SHANGRI-LA Selected for Austin Film Festival

Episodes 1-3 will have two screenings: 9:45pm, Sunday October 27th at The Hideout Theatre and 3:45pm Tuesday October 29th at the Rollin Theatre. Filmmaking duo Nick Sommer and Drew Rosas will be in attendance at both screenings; in addition to Sommer, who also stars in the series, other cast members, to be announced, will be in attendance.

BWW Review: THE MUSIC MAN Gets Fresh, Dynamic, Engaging Production at GLT

We are in the midst of 'The Music Man' blizzard. In the last year, Porthouse Theatre and The Shaw Festival have done the show, and a Broadway production starring Hugh Jackman as Harold Hill, will begin performances on October 15, 2020. Two-time Tony Award-winning superstar, Sutton Foster, will co-star as Marian the librarian. The production will be directed by four-time Tony Award winner, Jerry Zaks, with choreography by Tony Award winner Warren Carlyle.

Rock and Roll True Crime Podcast DISGRACELAND Announces Season 4 Premiere Date

Today, the hit rock and roll true crime podcast Disgracelandreturns in its 4th season with a two part episode on NWA. The show will run through the rest of 2019 with new episodes released mostly bi-weekly. The announcement of Season 4 comes just days before the release of host Jake Brennan's debut book, Disgracleand: Musicians Getting Away with Murder and Behaving Very Badly, available October 1 via Grand Central Publishing.

Queer|Art|Film's Fall 2019 Season Announced At IFC Center

Queer|Art, New York City's home for the creative and professional development of LGBTQ+ artists, is pleased to announce a special Fall season of Queer|Art|Film at IFC Center (323 Sixth Avenue at West 3rd St.), September 16-December 2. Organized by guest curators Vivian Crockett, Camilo Godoy, and Carlos Mottaa?"the season, titled Chicas y Fantasmas, explores the shells we inhabit to move through the world. Presented by four contemporary Latinx artists, the season assembles a fierce ensemble of showgirls, cyborgs, glam rockers, and two Chicana teens who defy gendered expectations, ableist norms, and society's limitations to actualize their own self-constructed identities and shape a vision of the world in which they want to live. A full itinerary follows. All screenings begin at 8pm.

Casting Announced For STC's THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE

Yael Stone and Noni Hazlehurst have joined the cast of Sydney Theatre Company's The Beauty Queen of Leenane, which will play at the Roslyn Packer Theatre this November. Yael will play Maureen Folan and Noni will play her mother Mag in the ink-black Martin McDonagh comedy, directed by STC Associate Director Paige Rattray. They join a cast which also includes Shiv Palekar and Toby Schmitz.
