As part of their commitment to reducing barriers to participation and access, Williamstown Theatre Festival has announce a new affordable-tickets pilot program for the 2022 Season: AccessTix.

Vineyard Theatre has announced that Lessons in Survival: 1971 will resume performances on Wednesday, June 15 with Reggie D. White temporarily stepping into the role of James Baldwin. White is a co-conceiver of the show as one of the members of The Commissary and the Vineyard Theatre's 2022-2023 Colman Domingo Award recipient. 

Due to positive COVID test results within the company, Vineyard Theatre has cancelled performances of Lessons in Survival: 1971 through Sunday, June 12. Ticket holders for impacted performances (June 10-12) will be contacted by phone and email regarding rebooking and next steps.

Vineyard Theatre has announced casting and design team for the upcoming World Premiere of Lessons in Survival: 1971 at Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) now on-sale. Lessons In Survival: 1971 will begin previews at Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) May 26, 2022 and play through June 30 with an opening night set for June 9.

Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced Mike Lew as the recipient of the 2022 L. Arnold Weissberger New Play Award for his play tiny father. Lew will receive the $10,000 award and the accompanying $10,000 Jay Harris Commission to write a new play.

The play is a farcical dark comedy revolving around the Brewster family, descended from the Mayflower settlers but now composed of maniacs, most of them homicidal. The hero, Mortimer Brewster, is a drama critic who must deal with his crazy, murderous family and local police in Brooklyn, New York, as he debates whether to go through with his recent promise to marry the woman he loves, Elaine Harper, who lives next door and is the daughter of the local minister. Performances are March 18-20 and 25-27, 2022, and will be held at the Wigwam Theater (10190 Blacklick-Eastern Road Northwest, Pickerington, OH 43147). Interim Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced that the 2022 Williamstown Theatre Festival summer season, the Tony Award-winning theater company's 68th, will be a return to indoor performances featuring three productions: one production on the Main Stage and two productions on the Nikos Stage.

Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern have announced updates for the company’s season. Initially announced as a special event, Lessons in Survival: 1971 will now receive a full production on the Vineyard stage May 25 - June 30.

Lincoln Center Theater’s LCT SPOTLIGHT SERIES, a free program of digital events, featuring LCT artists in performance, conversation and more, will continue on Thursday, June 24 at 7pm with the third episode of “Lileana Blain-Cruz in Conversation: On Directing.”

Ars Nova has announced its sixth slate of 2021 programming including four events curated by Jenny Koons as part the new Ars Nova Vision Residency program. Jenny Koons’s Vision Residency programming includes four events with $10 single tickets. Subscriptions to Ars Nova Supra livestream are available for $15 per month.

New York Theatre Workshop announced today that Artistic Director James C. Nicola will depart the theater on June 30, 2022. Nicola has been the Artistic Director of New York Theatre Workshop since 1988.
