Austin's Theatre and Texas' longest running theatre, in its last season before the new Topfer Theatre opens, presents the Austin premiere of XANADU, the over-the-top, roller-skating musical that spoofs the outrageously campy 1980s film starring Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly.

Rockers Anonymous returned to The Underground Lounge on June 25 for its fifth installment entitled Rockers Anonymous: Who's Bad. This tribute to Michael Jackson featured Jackson's famous hits as performed by the Rockers Anonymous band, Stirfry Massacre, and also featured the best up and coming rock and pop talent from the New York Musical Theatre scene. Different Stages continues its 2011 - 2012 season with Murder on the Nile, one of Dame Agatha's most popular mysteries. Simon Mostyn has recently married the beautiful, wealthy Kay Ridgeway, having thrown over his former lover Jacqueline. The couple is on their honeymoon and is at present on a paddle steamer on the Nile. With them are Kay's guardian, and Jacqueline, who has been dogging their footsteps all through the honeymoon. Also on the boat are a rich, ill-tempered woman and her niece, a rather direct young man, a doctor who nurses a grudge against Kay's father, and Kay's maid. During the voyage? well, you'll just have to see what happens.

Different Stages continues its 2009-2010 season with Agatha Christie's Spider's Web. Clarissa, the wife of a Foreign Office diplomat, is given to daydreaming. 'Supposing I were to come down one morning and find a dead body in the library'? Clarissa has her chance to find out when she discovers a body in the drawing room of her house. It becomes necessary to dispose of the body before her husband comes home with an important foreign politician, so Clarissa persuades her three houseguests to become accessories and accomplices. It seems that the murdered man was not unknown to certain members of the house party (but which ones?), and the search begins for the murderer and the motive, while at the same time trying to persuade a police inspector that there has been no murder at all...
