The much-anticipated House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year, returns to Rockefeller Plaza in New York City on Monday, July 18.

Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by Food & Wine founder and director, Lee Brian Schrager, who also serves as the vice president of corporate communications and national events at Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., is pleased to unveil the 2011 Festival program. Taking place September 29 - October 2, 2011 at locations across New York City, the program gets a makeover with a plethora of new events to complement the returning favorites. This event is FREE ADMISSION, the annual Expo features dozens of exhibits, entertainment, children's safety information, face painting, child safety ID cards, car seat check station, bicycle helmet fitting, special offers for pregnant moms and free baby product samples!

Each week will feature educational programs, fun kids crafts and entertainment.

The Napa Valley Opera House has announced a spectacular array of 23 items to be auctioned off at its annual Gala on Sunday, September 19. This year there are several 'pizzazzy' parties for party lovers - including one with Tyler Florence. For travelers, trips laced with adventure, luxury, cuisine, and culture are offered. Amazing chefs across the country are leaving traditional restaurants behind and hitting the streets in mobile kitchens serving some of the most unique and delicious dishes ever tasted. Food Network's new primetime series, The Great Food Truck Race, features seven such gourmet food trucks as they embark on an epic coast-to-coast culinary road trip to convince Americans to step outside their culinary comfort zones and try something new - from a truck. Tyler Florence hosts this six-episode competition premiering Sunday, August 15th at 10pm ET/PT; the series resumes in its regular timeslot of Sundays at 9pm ET/PT on August 22nd. From out-of-the-box sandwiches, burgers, and crepes to unique takes on Vietnamese, French, and Cajun cuisines, the trucks compete in weekly challenges to see who can sell the most food and race to the next episode while the losing team drives home. The last truck standing wins a $50,000 grand prize.

The New Year brings many resolutions and one that apparently has been adopted by DPAC, the new Durham Performing Arts Center, is to have the most diverse season to date, a little something for everyone and can we say it- busy?

When a writer has done the number of celebrity interviews that I have, he realizes that there are a handful of celebrities he would never want to meet again. Most, however, are genuinely nice people and enjoyable to work with. There are others who become friends-true and genuine friends. Such is the relationship that has developed between me and Nick Spangler who is currently starring as Matt in the lovely revival of The Fantasticks which is enjoying a healthy run Off Broadway.
