ASCAP, the American Society of Composer, Authors and Publishers, the world leader in performing rights and advocacy for music creators, celebrated the composers of the past year's most performed music in TV, film and video games last night at the 33rd annual ASCAP Screen Music Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. John Powell, a prolific composer who has scored more than 60 films - including the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story - was awarded the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award for his outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of film and television music.
Transgressive Queer Singer CHRISTEENE Returns with New Album BASURA on May 22nd

Transgressive queer singer/performer CHRISTEENE returns with her second album 'Basura', which will be released worldwide on May 22nd and will be available digitally on all platforms and special edition limited vinyl.'Basura'was produced by Peter Stopchinski in Austin, TX, with contributions from veteran Austin musician/composer Graham Reynolds and Thomàs Suire of the French band Infecticide. Following up her raw and singular 2012 debut album 'Waste Up Kneez Down', this second album (the title of which translates from Spanish as 'trash') contains thirteen new songs that are unapologetically queer, primal, and celebratory.CHRISTEENE will play a special record release live show on May 26th in Austin, TX, at the Museum of Human Achievement,and appear in select live U.S. shows throughout the summer. On July 28, she will begin a European summer/fall tour at the Milkshake Festival in Amsterdam, and tour throughout Europe. A full U.S. tour will follow in 2019.
Jeff Beck Announces Additional Summer 2018 Shows

JEFF BECK will embark on a 6-week U.S. tour this summer including seven solo shows in addition to the previously announced “Stars Align Tour,” with Paul Rodgers and Ann Wilson of Heart. Joining BECK on this year's outing will be long-time collaborators, Vinnie Colaiuta (drums) and Jimmy Hall (vocals) as well as long touring partner, Rhonda Smith (bass) and newcomer, cellist Vanessa Freebairn-Smith.

Academy Award winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have composed the original theme music for the highly anticipated new SHOWTIME documentary series THE FOURTH ESTATE, directed and produced by Emmy(R)-winning and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Liz Garbus (What Happened, Miss Simone?). This marks the second time the duo have created music for SHOWTIME programming, having appeared in the 18-part limited event series TWIN PEAKS performing the original song 'She's Gone Away,' which is featured on their 2016 album Not the Actual Events.

One of the few remaining truly independent, privately owned record labels in existence today, L.A.-based Cleopatra Records has been championing underground music and outsider artists since its inception in 1992. Now, the label has teamed up with the biggest music festival dedicated to discovering and promoting new talent, SXSW, to announce the first ever official Cleopatra Records showcase. Headlining this special event is legendary songwriter/producer/guitarist, Todd Rundgren, an artist well known for pushing the boundaries of rock and pop with his distinctive flair for the eccentric and unusual. Todd's newest album, White Knight, was released by Cleopatra Records in May of last year and features guest performances by Trent Reznor, Robyn, Joe Satriani & more.

The two collaborated on the stellar track 'I Got Your Back,' fusing Rundgren's jazz art rock with DAM's ultra smooth e-piano grooves. Now, DAM returns to the track and offers up a new vision of their collaboration, a 'Re-Freak' that adds more bottom heavy synths and new vocals sung by D?M. The result is a delight for fans of both Todd and DAM and is currently available on all digital platforms courtesy of Cleopatra Records.
