The Cecilia Chorus of New York Presents SKYE, BARTOK, VON MARTINES, AND MOZART, April 28 In Stern Auditorium

In a harmonic convergence that crosses cultural frontiers and breaks a centuries-old glass ceiling, The Cecilia Chorus of New York presents Skye, Bartók, von Martines, and Mozart, April 28 at 8:00 PM in Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall on 57th Street in Manhattan. The performance will be with chorus, soloists, children's choir, and orchestra. All three soloists will make their Carnegie Hall debut, including 2023 Houston Grand Opera winner Natalie Lewis.

Interview: Director John Farmanesh-Bocca On His Vision For PICNIC By William Inge

John Farmanesh-Bocca is a multi-award-winning physical theatre director, the Founding Artistic Director of both Not Man Apart - Physical Theatre Ensemble (2005-2015) and Shakespeare Santa Monica (2003-2014). Now he has shifted gears to go on a search for America by directing the sensual, passionate, and delightfully funny Pulitzer Prize winning play Picnic by William Inge, with his version featuring an entirely Black American cast. Misery written by the incomparable “Master of Horror” Stephen King was first released via Viking Press on June 8, 1987. The story revolves around the main character, romance novelist Paul Sheldon, and his self-proclaimed number-one fan Annie Wilkes. Paul is seriously injured in a car crash, and Annie being a former nurse discovers Paul and brings him home for rehabilitation. While staying in Annie’s home, Paul receives treatment and pain meds and soon discovers he is prisoner and forced to adhere to all of his captor’s demands.
