MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLY to Extend at Northlight Theatre

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, presents the World Premiere of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley. Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, written by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon and directed by Jessica Thebus, has been extended for an additional six performances and will now run through December 24, 2016.

Northlight Theatre Continues 2016-17 Season with The World Premiere of MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS IN PEMBERLEY

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, presents the World Premiere of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley. Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, written by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon and directed by Jessica Thebus, runs November 10 - December 18, 2016 at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. The press opening is scheduled for Friday, November 18 at 8 pm.

Northlight Theatre Announces 2016-17 Season Casting

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces casting for the first three shows of its 42nd season, including The City of Conversation, the World Premiere of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley and the World Premiere of Faceless.

Evans, announces casting for the final productions of its 41st Season.  The season continues with Tony nominated Mothers and Sons, written by Terrence McNally and directed by Steve Scott. The cast includes Cindy Gold (Katharine Gerard), Ben Miller (Bud Ogden-Porter), Jeff Parker (Cal Porter) and Ben Sprunger (Wil Ogden).

CHICAGO FIRE's Monica Raymund Boards Lookingglass' 2015-16 Season; Remaining Casts Set

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces casting for the remainder of its 2015-2016 season, which includes Federico Garcia Lorca's Blood Wedding, directed by Ensemble Member Daniel Ostling, and the World Premiere of Thaddeus and Slocum: A Vaudeville Adventure, written by Ensemble member Kevin Douglas and co-directed by Ensemble Member J. Nicole Brooks and Krissy Vanderwarker. Blood Wedding runs March 2 - April 24, 2016 with tickets on sale to the general public starting January 13, 2016. Thaddeus and Slocum runs June 1 - August 7, 2016 with tickets on sale to the general public starting April 6, 2016. An Issue of Blood was penned by Gardley in response to recent events and social injustices. Windy City Playhouse to Open in March with END DAYS

Windy City Playhouse, Chicago's newest Equity theater, located at 3014 W. Irving Park Road, will officially open Monday, March 23, at 7pm. The inaugural production of the 2015 season is Deborah Zoe Laufer's End Days, a comic romp through suburban Armageddon, which begins previews March 19 and continues through April 26.

BWW Review: BY THE WAY, MEET VERA STARK Opens at the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City

By the Way, Meet Vera Stark opened on Saturday night June 7 at the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City, Mo. The play written by Lynn Nottage takes place in 1930's Hollywood, where Vera Stark is a black housekeeper for a Hollywood starlet. Directed by Missy Koonce, Vera Stark lands a part in a movie starring her white boss Gloria Mitchell. What happens in the next two acts are the hilarious relationships of Stark, Mitchell, and the other characters in the cast over a 75-year journey.

The comedy about Hollywood stereotypes, By the Way, Meet Vera Stark comes to the Unicorn Theatre tonight, June 4, with opening night on June 7. Missy Koonce directs the Unicorn production written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Lynn Nottage. Nottage won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2009 for her play Ruined. At the time, she wrote Ruined she was working on a second project, which ended up being By the Way, Meet Vera Stark.
