Lane Czaplinski Named Director of Performing Arts at Wexner Center

Lane Czaplinski will assume the position of director of performing arts at the Wexner Center for the Arts, effective June 1. Czaplinski will succeed Charles Helm, the Wex's current performing arts director, who will retire June 30 after 26 extraordinary years with the center.

Undermain Theatre presents REALLY by Jackie Sibblies Drury

Undermain Theatre presents a Dallas premiere, REALLY, by Jackie Sibblies Drury. REALLY will be produced at Undermain's home in Deep Ellum - 3200 Main Street. Directed by Carson McCain, opening night will be Saturday, April 15th with a curtain time of 7:30 pm.  Preview performances will be on April 12th, 13th, and 14th at 7:30 pm. ALL PREVIEW PERFORMANCES ARE ONLY $15. There will be two Saturday matinee performances at 2:00 pm on April 22nd and May 6th. The production will run through May 6th.

Soho Rep.'s 2017 Projects to Play The Public and A.R.T./New York

Toshiki Okada's QUIET, COMFORT Runs August 11 - 27

OBIE-winning theater company Hoi Polloi (Three Pianos, Shadows) presents Quiet, Comfort, a newly-commissioned text by Japanese phenomenon playwright Toshiki Okada. For the piece, director Alec Duffy fashions a dream world in which the audience joins the actors on a giant bed that fills the entire stage of JACK for a piece about travel, first-world privilege and the danger of a life lived alone. With choreography by Stacy Grossfield, Hoi Polloi offers a mysterious experience that aims for the subconscious.

Adelaide Festival Centre Announces Schedule for OzAsia Festival

Adelaide Festival Centre today revealed new contemporary 10 year anniversary programming for this year's OzAsia Festival which runs from 17 September - 2 October. OzAsia Festival is Australia's leading international arts festival presenting the best theatre, dance, music, film and visual arts from across Asia.  This year's program features an impressive array of performance works by contemporary Asian artists who are pioneering work in their field. Performers congregating for the Festival come from a far-reaching and diverse number of Asian countries including Japan, India, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Cambodia, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Israel.

Due to popular demand Abrons Arts Center and New York City Players are adding three additional performances of Really, a new play written by Jackie Sibblies Drury, directed by Richard Maxwell and designed by photographer Michael Schmelling. Performed by Elaine Davis, Tavish Miller and Kaneza Schaal, Really is a play about grief, intimacy and the difference between goodness and greatness seen through the lens of photography. A black woman takes pictures of her artist boyfriend's mom. As they jockey for a claim to him, they try to redefine themselves in the wake of his legacy.
