Charles Xavier, aka 'The Xman,' is a visionary producer, composer, electronic musician and percussionist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. With a work ethic matched only by his creative madness, Xavier is releasing his sixth full-length album, Happy Note Records Sampler 2016, on October 14, 2016.

Dot Time Records is pleased to announce the signing of multiple GRAMMY and EMMY Award bassist, Robert Hurst. Robert, a Detroit native, has enjoyed a stellar career spanning over 30 years, and is a well respected and highly recognized composer, electric and acoustic bassist, educator, and recording artist.

When you check in for HISTORY LIST, you will receive a color-coded program which indicates the group with whom and in what order you will walk around the site to witness the plays. The entire audience returns to a central meeting point in front of the historical Fenyes Mansion, led by time period costume-matched Tour Guides who go on to appear as characters within the play at the location where they have led you. Try to stay as close to these guides as you walk with them as their comical banter is not to be missed. I truly enjoy asking them questions as we walked, knowing their improvised answers will perfectly match the characters they are playing.

The South Orange Performing Arts Center and John Lee & Jazz Legacy Productions proudly present Giants of Jazz 18, this year honoring jazz pianist George Cables, on Saturday, November 28 at 8 p.m. The night will include performances by jazz luminaries Gary Bartz, Don Braden, Tommy Campbell, Sharel Cassity, Larry Coryell, Sullivan Fortner, Roberta, Gambarini, Mark Gross, Russell Hall, Roy Hargrove, Billy Harper, Jimmy Heath, Freddie Hendrix, Vic Juris, Victor Lewis, Jeb Patton, Justin Robinson, Claudio Roditi, Wallace Roney, Ameen Saleem, Evan Sherman, Lenny White and Buster Williams. There may be late additions to the roster as more artists stop by to honor Mr. Cables. These companion releases of Soldier's solo piano (In Black & White) and quartet music (In Four Color) dissect and explore the two classic forms of the classical tradition. Together they encompass five hours of compositions spanning thirty years.

July is a packed month at The Nash, kicking off with a 4th of July bash with the Bad Cactus Brass Band. The month also marks the beginning of the Catch A Rising Star Series, comprised of Arizona musicians ages 18 to 24, who have been specially selected by The Nash,. The Series provides a platform for these emerging artists to gain prominence in the jazz community.
