What happens when you do a Broadway Show for three years? Mitchell Jarvis and Tony LePage have created a parody of the great prison film: 'The Shawshank Redemption'. From the tight confines of the Helen Hays Theatre, the entire cast is represented.
After completing 23 episodes of the backstage web-series known as 'Rock of Ages Productions', Mitchell Jarvis has completed the final work in the series, 'A Rockwork Orange'. This dark and zany parody of 5 of Jarvis' favorite films, is shot exclusively at intermissions of actual Broadway performances of 'Rock of Ages'. From their tiny dressing rooms tucked away in the bowls of the Helen Hays Theatre, the entire cast is represented in this tiny epic.

Producers of the five-time Tony Award nominated hit musical ROCK OF AGES have just announced that Kate Rockwell (Bring It On: The Musical, Legally Blonde), will 'Bring It' to Broadway's Bourbon Room, taking on the leading role of Sherrie - the "small town girl" who "took the midnight train goin' anywhere" - on Monday, January 21, 2013. That same day, Teresa Stanley (The Color Purple, Rock of Ages First National Tour) will take over the role of Justice, owner of the Sunset Strip's Venus Club.

Just last night, the five-time Tony Award nominated Broadway musical ROCK OF AGES hosted a Military Tribute Night, at which 160 Active Duty, Retired & Veteran members of the U.S. Military were given free tickets to the show, and one Veteran in attendance received the Grand Prize of a new mortgage-free home, courtesy of The Boot Campaign and Benchmark Mortgage.

Cordero, who will make his Broadway debut, is stepping in for Adam Dannheisser as "Dennis," the owner of The Bourbon Room, while he is on leave to play a role in Disgraced at Lincoln Center Theater's Claire Tow Theater from September 24 - November 18, 2012. Dannheisser returns to ROCK OF AGES on November 19, 2012.

Producers of the five-time Tony Award nominated hit musical ROCK OF AGES have announced that Ashley Spencer (Grease, Priscilla..) will star in the leading role of Sherrie - the "small town girl" who "took the midnight train goin' anywhere" - beginning Thursday, May 10 at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre (220 W 44th Street). Emily Padgett, who has performed the role since November 2011, will play her final performance on Tuesday, May 1. During the interim week, the role will be covered alternately by Katie Webber and Tessa Alves.

This year is shaping up to be the year of the Canucks on Broadway - with more Canadian representation on the Great White Way than ever before. One of those Canadians is Tony LePage, currently starring in Rock of Ages where he understudies all eight of the male roles. Tony started with the Toronto production of the show before moving to NYC, which he has called home for the last year. He took a few minutes to talk with BWW about what the journey has been like for him, and about why he hopes to continue to call NYC home.
