This autumn, Proud Haddock will bring Tony Harrison's lyrical play Square Rounds to the Finborough Theatre for its first UK production in nearly 30 years since its rediscovery. This all-female ensemble cast will star Gracy Goldman (Sense8, Netflix; Doctor Who, BBC1; Richard II, RSC), Letty Thomas (The Divide, The Old Vic; Mary Stuart, Almeida Theatre; The Beasts, The Lyric Hammersmith), Eva Feiler (Othello, RSC; The Merchant of Venice, RSC; Father Brown, BBC), Amy Marchant (A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Lyric Hammersmith; Shakespeare in Love, Noel Coward Theatre), Philippa Quinn (Control, Gielgud Theatre; Because We Want To, Rose Theatre; Writers Block, Battersea Arts Centre) and Rujenne Green (The Dog Beneath The Skin, Jermyn Street Theatre; Cookies, Theatre Royal Haymarket).

The 150th birthday year of the Finborough Theatre building continues with its September-November season, which again brings together the two strands of its multi-award-winning artistic policy. Alongside unique rediscoveries from a forgotten Victorian dramatist and two works inspired by the First World War, the Finborough presents eight new plays and one new musical from England, Wales, the United States and New Zealand.

In a new production commissioned by the Finborough Theatre, the rediscovery of Tony Harrison's Square Rounds in its first UK production for nearly 30 years opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season on Tuesday, 4 September 2018 (Press Nights: Thursday, 6 September and Friday, 7 September 2018 at 7.30pm).

Following a hugely successful sell-out run at the Old Red Lion this summer, Tony Cox's Mrs Orwell, starring Cressida Bonas and Peter Hamilton Dyer, will be transferring to Southwark Playhouse for a limited run this September. This exciting play is based on actual events.

This summer, the world premiere of Mrs Orwell starring Cressida Bonas (Doctor Thorne (ITV), Gatsby (Leicester Square Theatre), An Evening with Lucien Freud (Leicester Square Theatre)) and Peter Hamilton Dyer (Twelfth Night and Richard III (Broadway for Shakespeare's Globe), A Midsummer Night's Dream: A Play for the Nation (RSC), Genius: Einstein (Fox 21 Television)) will be brought to life at the Old Red Lion. This exciting play is based on actual events.

Finborough Theatre's Summer Season features two premieres of vibrant new writing and two unique rediscoveries. The two new plays - Continuity by new Northern Irish playwright Gerry Moynihan and the European premiere of Dolphins and Sharks from new African-American playwright James Anthony Tyler - were both originally seen as staged readings as part of Vibrant 2016 - A Festival of Finborough Playwrights.

English Touring Theatre Artistic Director Richard Twyman, in collaboration with Amal - A Said Foundation Project, today announces The Othello Project, an additional programme of events taking place on 20 May, 27 May and 3 June, during the run of ETT's co-production of Othello, with Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory, at Wilton's Music Hall.

The Finborough's Winter Season concentrates on unique rediscoveries with works from the 1930s, 1940s, 1970s and 1980s including the long overdue rediscovery of playwright James Bridie, one of the West End's most popular dramatists of the 1930s and 1940s. New writing is represented by the eighth consecutive year of Vibrant 2016 - A Festival of Finborough Playwrights featuring our usual eclectic selection of staged readings by UK and international playwrights, developed, nurtured or championed by the Finborough Theatre. This year's festival also includes new filmmaking from the Earl's Court Film Festival, and the European premiere of the After Orlando International Theatre Action, a collection of 70 short plays in response to the massacre at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in June 2016.

Commemorating the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, the world premiere of IT IS EASY TO BE DEAD by award-winning playwright Neil McPherson opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season on Wednesday, 15 June 2016. Born in Aberdeen, Charles Sorley was studying in Germany when the First World War broke out and was briefly imprisoned as an enemy alien. He was one of the first to join the army in 1914. Killed in action a year later at the age of 20, his poems are among the most ambivalent, profound and moving war poetry ever written.
