Photo Flash: First Look at Australian Theatre Company's LA Premiere of HOLDING THE MAN

Writer, actor and activist Timothy Conigrave's best-selling memoir (winner of the United Nations Human Rights Award for Non-Fiction and listed as one of the '100 Favorite Australian Books' by the Australian Society of Authors) is one of Australia's great love stories. The stage version by Tommy Murphy captures all its special magic. Producers Nick Hardcastle and Nate Jones launch their newly formed Australian Theatre Company with the Los Angeles premiere of Holding the Man, featuring an all-Australian cast and directed by veteran Hollywood acting coach Larry Moss. New Victory Theater to Present U.S. Premiere of Belvoir's PETER PAN, 10/4-13

With no green tights in sight, Belvoir's wild and unlikely Peter Pan lands on 42nd Street in Times Square for its U.S. premiere at The New Victory Theater from October 4 - 13, 2013. Adapted by award-winning playwright Tommy Murphy (West End's Holding the Man, Belvoir's Gwen in Purgatory) and directed by Belvoir's Artistic Director - dreamer and lost boy leader - Ralph Myers (Private Lives), Peter Pan and his strange story unfurl on a single set, a kid's bedroom in 1980s suburban Australia. This adaptation of J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan launches the 2013-14 season of The New Victory Theater, New York's premier performing arts venue for families.

Winners of Richard Burton Award for Playwriting Announced

Two recipients have been selected from the shortlist of six entries to receive the Richard Burton Award for Playwriting, created by Sally Burton in association with Black Swan State Theatre Company. These two writers have been awarded commissions worth $15,000 each. With a prize pool of $30,000, the Richard Burton Award for Playwriting is one of the richest in Australia.

Playwright Raimondo Cortese Awarded The Patrick White Playwrights’ Fellowship

The first ever recipient of The Patrick White Playwrights' Fellowship was announced at a special event at Sydney Theatre Company on Friday 20 May at 8pm. Playwright Raimondo Cortese was honoured with the $25,000 year-long Fellowship, a new position for an established playwright that will see him participate in a range of activities at STC including leading playwriting workshops and participating in a mentoring programme for two emerging playwrights.
