STAGE TUBE: On This Day for 7/27/15- A CATERED AFFAIR

Today in 2008, A Catered Affair closed at the Walter Kerr Theatre, where it ran for 116 performances. A Catered Affair is a musical with a book by Harvey Fierstein and music and lyrics by John Bucchino. It is based on both the 1956 film The Catered Affair written by Gore Vidal and the original 1955 teleplay by Paddy Chayefsky, set in 1953 in the Bronx. John Doyle directed the production, which starred Fierstein, Faith Prince and Tom Wopat.

54 Below to Celebrate Frank Sinatra Centennial This Month

This July, 54 Below celebrates The Frank Sinatra Birthday Centennial with three special musical events featuring some of the brightest stars from Broadway and cabaret including Tony Award nominees Tom Wopat and Bob Stillman, Bistro and MAC Award winner Jeff Harnar, Broadway's Sal Viviano, acclaimed jazz vocalist Erin McDougald and her quintet, and Holland Vavra with Anneliese van der Pol (Beauty and the Beast, Disney Channel's 'That's So Raven'), Tyce Green, Katie Rosen and Jared Zirilli in a recreation of Sinatra's legendary 1966 performance at the Sands Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Broadway's N'Kenge Performs with Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra This Weekend

This weekend, Indianapolis is in for a treat as Broadway's darling N'Kenge returns for two-nights only with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for Disco Days and Boogie Nights: Music of the 70s.  N'Nenge, under the direction of Jack Everly, will sing disco anthems, such as "I Will Survive" and other monster rock hits!

Presented by Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, the musical, which played at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre in 2013, will be directed again by Scott Schwartz.

Tony Bennett to Headline 4th Annual TD James Moody Jazz Festival at NJPAC, 11/7-15

New Jersey Performing Arts Center is proud to announce the TD James Moody Jazz Festival, headlined by the legendary Tony Bennett, from November 7-15, 2015. With help from NJPAC Jazz Advisor Christian McBride, this festival promises to be one of the largest gatherings for jazz fans on the East Coast, showcasing all-star line-ups with some of the country's best musicians, such as Dianne Reeves, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings and the Sarah Vaughan Vocal Competition. Now in its fourth year, the festival offers nine days of concerts, panel discussions and workshops around Newark, in honor of saxophonist, bebop pioneer, and Newark native James Moody.

Jennifer Roberts Returns to Don't Tell Mama Tonight

After successful shows at Judy's Chelsea and Don't Tell Mama, Jennifer Roberts is back to celebrate her love for Manhattan with two shows at New York hotspot 'Don't Tell Mama.' Musical Director Tedd Firth will join Jennifer along with bass player Ritt Henn (www.ritthenn.com) tonight, April 7th and April 9th.
