Pocket Universe will present a new, all-female production of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, starring Alyssa May Gold (Arcadia on Broadway, Middle of the Night) as Brutus, Dea Julien (West Side Story 1st Nat'l Tour, Blueprint Specials) as Julius Caesar, Violeta Picayo (BEDLAM's Sense & Sensibility, RadioBABEL) as Mark Antony, Madeline Wolf (Fun Home on Broadway, Normativity) as Cassius, Miranda Cornell (Alter Ego, #Blessed) as Casca, and Amie Tedesco (Lemon Sky, Any Day Now) as Lucius. All other roles will be played by members of the company.

Waterwell is presenting a new dual language (English/Farsi) version of Hamlet at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture (18 Bleecker Street). Starring Tony Award nominees Arian Moayed as Hamlet, Sherie Rene Scott as Gertrude, and Micah Stock as Horatio, with direction by Drama Desk nominee Tom Ridgely, Hamlet is currently in previews for a May 21st opening. Waterwell announced today the revival of the Blueprint Specials, a series of lost WWII-era musicals composed principally by Broadway legend Frank Loesser to be presented in association with the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and The Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival. The production will star Tony Award nominees Laura Osnes (Cinderella, Bonnie and Clyde) and Will Swenson (Hair) and be directed by Drama Desk nominee Tom Ridgely.

This Sunday (April 24th) marks the opening of Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director) production of Richard Brinsley Sheridan's THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL, directed by Marc Vietor.

Waterwell today announced a special command performance at Joe's Pub of its 2016 New Works Lab commission Some of the Things Inside, a bracingly honest play by one of the most singular and significant voices in the American theater: Pulitzer Prize finalist and OBIE Award winner Dael Orlandersmith (Forever, Yellowman, Beauty's Daughter). This year's installment of the annual developmental workshop series for the senior Drama class at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS), Some of the Things Inside is directed by Allison Talis and will play Joe's Pub Monday, April 18th at 7:00pm.
