General Director Plácido Domingo has announced final casting information for LA Opera's new production of Akhnaten by Philip Glass. Final performances of the Young Chekhov trilogy begin this autumn in the Olivier Theatre, and The Plough and the Stars is wrapping up at the Lyttelton. In addition, previews begin in the Lyttelton for The Red Barn on 6 October (press night on 17 October), and Amadeus starts previewing in the Olivier from 19 October, (press night on 26 October).

Imelda Staunton and Conleth Hill will star in a new production of multi Tony and Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Edward Albee's WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? directed by James Macdonald.

This season's revival of Eugene O'Neill's LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT, presented by Roundabout Theatre Company in association with Ryan Murphy, concludes its limited Broadway run today, June 26th, 2016, after 22 previews and 62 regular performances.

Colby Minifie joins the previously announced cast as 'Cathleen.' Jonathan Kent will direct, as part of Roundabout Theatre Company's 50th anniversary season.

Following a ten-year hiatus from the London stage, A Christmas Carol at the Noel Coward Theatre marks Jim Broadbent's return to the West End. Patrick Barlow's take on the Charles Dickens classic is unlike anything I've ever seen before - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Although Broadbent's Scrooge is still somewhat cold-hearted, he is by no means as cruel as other depictions.

According to the Daily Mail, Olivier winner Samantha Spiro will join Jim Broadbent (as Scrooge) in a new version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, adapted by Patrick Barlow from Charles Dickens' classic story of greed, grief, ghoulish ghosts and eleventh-hour redemption.
