Shakespeare & Company Announces 2013 Summer Season

Following a record-breaking 35th Season, Shakespeare & Company Artistic Director Tony Simotes is pleased to announce the 2013 summer lineup of plays that will take place in the Tina Packer Playhouse and the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre, including a number of special events that will underscore those productions. The highlights of the 2013 Summer Season include two full productions of Shakespeare: Love's Labour's Lost and Richard II, both of which will be performed for the first time on the Tina Packer Playhouse stage, as well as the previously announced Mother Courage and Her Children, directed by Simotes and starring Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis, Apollo Dukakis, and OBIE Award winner John Douglas Thompson. Tickets will go on sale on February 14, 2013, and can be purchased online at www.shakespeare.org or by calling 413-637-3353.

Bedlam's SAINT JOAN Revival to Return Off-Broadway at Access Theater, 3/6

Access Theater will present a 4-week encore engagement of Bedlam's critically acclaimed Off-Broadway revival of George Bernard Shaw's rarely produced 1923 masterpiece SAINT JOAN. In this bold, environmental staging directed by Eric Tucker, Shaw's play is performed in its entirety using an ensemble of only four actors to play all 24 roles. Performances begin March 6 at Access Theater where it will play in repertory with a new production of HAMLET as performed by the same four actors.

HAMLET Will Begin 2/8 Off-Broadway

Bedlam follows up it's critically acclaimed revival of Shaw's Saint Joan (named 2012's Best Revival of A Play by The Wall Street Journal and called 'a production to be treasured' by The New York Times) with HAMLET. In this bold, environmental staging directed by Eric Tucker, Shakespeare's classic drama is performed by an ensemble of only four actors. Previews for this limited run Off-Broadway engagement begin February 8th at Access Theatre with opening night set for Sunday, February 17th.

95 WordsPerMinute's BEST OF EVERYTHING Adds Performances at HERE, 10/15 & 20

Before Fifty Shades of Grey, there was Rona Jaffe's scandalous 1958 bestseller THE BEST OF EVERYTHING. Now this controversial novel, which was the basis for the hit 1959 movie starring Joan Crawford, comes to the stage courtesy of the new theater company 95 WordsPerMinute. It is adapted and directed by Julie Kramer, and developed with actor and writer Amy Wilson. Two additional performances -- Monday, Oct. 15 at 8:30pm & Saturday, Oct. 20 at 4pm -- have been added to the performances schedule at HERE.

The show plays its final performance at Access Theater in Tribeca tonight, May 13.
