Queens Theatre in association with theatre 167 presents JACKSON HEIGHTS 3 AM, a new play conceived and directed by Ari Laura Kreith. The two companies have collaborated to present the play at two venues-first at PS 69 (77-02 37th Avenue) in Jackson Heights (Jan 13-22) and then at Queens Theatre (14 United Nations Ave So. in Flushing Meadow Corona Park) (Jan 27-Feb 5).
Eight playwrights combined with director, Ari Laura Kreith, in creating a new work inspired by Jackson Heights (Queens) in the wee hours of the morning. Livery cab drivers, police officers, sex workers, Colombian drag queens, Bangladeshi insomniacs, expatriate ER doctors, Ecuadorian waitresses and a baby awake in its stroller are among the characters whose experiences are chronicled in this multilingual (English, Spanish, Bengali) production which features a multicultural ensemble cast of 24.

Each year the Cathedral brings together people from the arts, education and government along with other advocates in support of the LGBT community in New York. This year the focus is on theatre. This year, teens are in a murderous mood at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Today, the nonprofit's School of Theatre announced the winning scripts in its annual Teen One-Acts Festival - and both of them focus on comically preposterous crimes. The winning plays for 2010 are The Death of a Nut by 15-year-old Sierra Schoefer of Pleasanton and Off with his Head by 17-year-old Kelly Margaret Roderick of San Ramon. Both plays will be produced this spring by a team of 27 local teens.

This year, our kids' series takes a sharp turn to starboard for How I Became a Pirate, a colorfully hilarious musical adventure on the high seas! Adapted by Alyn Cardarelli, with music by Steve Goers, How I Became A Pirate runs at 10:30am on March 26, April 8 and 9; 11am on March 27 and April 10; and at 10:30am, 1pm and 3:30pm on April 3.

Ghostlight Records is set to re-release the original cast recording of 13. The re-release will include 4 cut tracks from the show, as well as some additional material and edits done by composer Jason Robert Brown. In addition, the recording will have 2 discs, with the second one featuring accompaniment tracks of the songs from the show.

The evening will feature a special 'Blast from the Past' concert of songs and numbers from four decades of Amas Musicals, including Bubbling Brown Sugar, Zanna Don't!, Barrio Babies, Bobos, SHOUT! The Mod Musical, Four Guys Named Jose, Latin Heat, Starmites, Langston Hughes's Little Ham, From My Hometown, Lone Star Love, and Wanda's World. The director and choreographer for the evening is Amas Artist-in-Residence Maria Torres, with musical direction by Doug Oberhamer. The event will take place at the Lighthouse International, 111 East 59th Street, at 7pm.

Nelson, Elizabeth Egan Gillies, Al Calderon, Malik Hammond, Caitlin Gann, Ariana Grande, Joey La Varco, Brynn Williams, Lexi Bodick, Zac Coe, Adam Michael Kaufman, Zach Page, Chris Raymond and Charlie Rosen gave a live performance of three songs from the show, followed by a CD signing to celebrate the in store release of the original cast recording on Tuesday, November 25th at the Borders in The Shops at Columbus Circle.
