Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced the election of three new members to its Board of Trustees. They are Daniel Pierce Bergin, Senior Producer and Partnership Manager for Twin Cities Public Television, Mark Marjala, Senior Director of Human Resources at Best Buy, Co., Inc. in Minneapolis and Tom Vitt, a partner in Dorsey and Whitney's Trial Department and Co-Chair of the IP Litigation Practice Group.

Hennepin Theatre Trust Announces Talk-It Hennepin, Running March Through June

Today, Hennepin Theatre Trust announced the launch of Talk-It Hennepin, a free, four-part series of public conversations and workshops bringing together today's foremost thinkers and professionals in city planning and urban design with Hennepin Avenue stakeholders. Running from March 8 into June 2012, the Talk-It series is part of the broader Plan-It Hennepin, a year-long initiative led by partners Hennepin Theatre Trust, Walker Art Center, Artspace and the City of Minneapolis. Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, the plan will re-imagine a stretch of this storied avenue as a revitalized cultural corridor from the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden to the Mississippi River.

Hennepin Theatre Trust to Establish the New Century Theatre

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced that it will establish the New Century Theatre, a flexible use performance space on the street level of City Center in downtown Minneapolis. Launching this new 300 seat theatre is a key part of the Trust's work in continuing to revitalize Hennepin Avenue and increase its arts education and presenting activities. The New Century Theatre will be adjacent to the Trust's office headquarters which, as of July 1, 2011, will be located at 615 Hennepin Avenue, between 6th and 7th Streets, in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55402.

They are Scott Benson, an attorney with Briol & Associates and former Minneapolis City Council member; Annette Meeks, founder/CEO of the Freedom Foundation of Minnesota and an experienced politician who was Tom Emmer's running mate in the recent gubernatorial election; and Thomas J. Rosen, a respected and successful CPA who is a senior partner at Frederick & Rosen Ltd., a firm which has served the Twin Cities for 40 years.
