The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is teaming with two productions playing in Charlotte next week to offer help for Haiti relief efforts.

Presbyterian Hospital continues its support of the arts by renewing its sponsorship of the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Presbyterian is the 'Preferred Healthcare Provider' of the Center and will co-sponsor the 'Family Night at the Knight' membership event at the brand new Knight Theater January 28th.

The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce the renewal of US Airways' sponsorship as the Center's Official Airline for the fourth consecutive year.

Thanks to strong ticket sales and fantastic feedback from audiences, Shear Madness - Charlotte's all-time longest running theatrical hit that opened April 9 at the new Stage Door Theater - has extended its run through Sunday, Sept. 6, Blumenthal Performing Arts Center President Tom Gabbard announced today. Originally slated to close June 6, Shear Madness has added three months of performances in Charlotte, which will follow an exclusive one-month engagement in Blowing Rock.

Charlotte audiences can look forward to more than 30 special attractions representing the best music, comedy, and theatrical events available that are featured on the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center's 2009-10 season. They will also have additional opportunities to attend the best shows Broadway has to offer, as the Center announced today the extension of three of its Broadway shows with an extra week of The Aluminum Show, Jersey Boys, and Mary Poppins.

A blockbuster lineup of Broadway?s most popular and critically acclaimed productions will visit the Queen City in 2009/10 as part of the N.C. Blumenthal Performing Arts Center?s Broadway Lights Series. The Center?s 2009/10 series includes four Tony Award winners for Broadway?s Best Musical, as well as a stunning new show direct from Israel. Many of the shows coming to Charlotte are among the most popular hits on Broadway today.

Tickets for much of Charlotte's best performing arts entertainment will be service fee FREE March 13-16. The CarolinaTix ticketing system operated by the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center will waive service fees on all events on sale on the system during this four-day period. The fee free weekend begins at 10 AM on Friday (March 13) and ends at midnight on Monday (March 16).

The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is partnering with local high schools and colleges this winter to give students a unique experience tied to the Broadway tour of FROST/NIXON, coming to the Belk Theater Feb. 10 - 15. Students are watching video excerpts of the famed interviews of President Richard M. Nixon, conducted by British talk-show host David Frost in 1977, and using a study guide that explores the Nixon administration, the Watergate investigation, and profiles of the major players involved in this monumental series of interviews. After studying the historical events and video footage that inspired Peter Morgan's award-winning play and Oscar-nominated film, every student will be treated to a free ticket to see the hit play FROST/NIXON, courtesy of the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.

On the occasion of The Broadway League's Annual Industry Conference, AUDIENCE REWARDS has been named the official national patron loyalty program for Broadway.
