LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & CHRIS ISAACSON have just announced the performers for UPRIGHT CABARET's AMERICAN ICON SERIES' first show of their 3rd Season, beginning with, HEART AND SOUL, starring American Idol Finalist SYESHA MERCADO, Broadway sensation SHOSHANA BEAN, and vocal powerhouse SYLVIA MACCALLA, celebrating the music of Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick & Whitney Houston.

What has made Linda Ronstadt so popular? She has a lovely voice, indeed, but so do many other vocalists whose voices never emanate past the rafters of a church choir. Ronstadt has always defied description. She's a true rebel. Just when you thought you could put a label on what she sang - pop, country, jazz, out of the blue she'd come up with another big surprise, like lifting her voice several octaves to perfrom Gilbert and Sullivan and The Pirates of Penzance. Then it dropped down again in elegant style as she decided to pay homage to all those lovely Nelson Riddle tunes from the big band era. And she was good, no the best, with every type of music she sang. Well, Robyn Spangler radiates such warmth and finesse as a singer ...and she has the whole Linda Ronstadt collection down pat. And it's not an imitation; she has a singularly and distinctively pretty voice. On Sunday October 30 Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's presented a unique treat in cabaret with the dual sounds of Broadway's Randall Phillips and pop singer Jerry Sharell in Together Again. Musical direction was by the wonderful Todd Schroeder on piano with Bill Brendle on keyboard, Jack LeCompte on drums, Tim Christensen on bass, and Tony Mandracchia on guitar.

Singer Randall Anne Brooks, who portrayed orphan "Duffy" in the original Broadway cast of Annie, will, on October 30, 2011, perform a new cabaret show with her best friend, Jerry Sharell, who was "Mickey" on the 80's Disney musical TV series, Kids Incorporated. 'Jim Caruso's Cast Party' celebrated the extraordinary talent in Las Vegas. Headliner Donny Osmond showed up to support his pals Caruso and musical director Billy Stritch, and crooned a sensitive 'Moon River' for his mentor, Andy Williams.

'On A Liquid Afternoon' is Robyn Spangler's debut release. The CD draws from various styles and composers having a mix of not only standard musical theatre and jazz faire but also a little country and even some Motown sound.

On Wed, July 13, 2011 - NBC's 'The Voice' star Frenchie Davis, American Idol's Blake Lewis and teen-heartthrobs Honor Society performed a free concert as part of the 9th Annual Summer Concert Series presented by Citi at The Grove in Los Angeles.
