I've seen a lot of shows in 2014 - and I'm not done yet - but there are a couple of evenings that really stand out for me for a variety of reasons.

Starz announced today that its Emmy(R)-winning Original series 'Black Sails' has been greenlit for a third season. The series is created by Jonathan Steinberg ('Jericho,' 'Human Target') and Robert Levine ('Touch') and executive produced by Michael Bay (Transformers, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor) and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, producers on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Purge. The ten-episode second season of the authentic high sails drama series, premiering January 24th, 2015 at 9 pm ET/PT on STARZ, follows the most feared pirate of the day, Captain Flint (Toby Stephens), and his men and takes place twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic 'Treasure Island.'

The Old Vic, DigitalTheatre.com & CinemaLive are delighted to announce that The Old Vic's five-star, sold-out production of Arthur Miller's The Crucible directed by Yael Farber and starring Richard Armitage ('The Hobbit', 'Into the Storm') will be screened in over 350 cinemas across the UK for two screenings only, Thursday 4th & Sunday 7th December 2014. Digital Theatre is delighted to announce its next title; Richard Eyre's five-star, multi award-winning revival production of Ibsen's Ghosts starring Olivier Award-winners Lesley Manville and Jack Lowden will be available to buy and watch online around the world from today 18 September 2014.

The first trailer for the new family drama “Believe” has been released. The film is set in 1984 and inspired by true events. The story is a funny and touching tale about Sir Matt Busby, legendary Manchester United football manager, who helps a wayward boy fulfill his dream. An act of petty crime by 11 year old Georgie becomes a collision of fate as Sir Matt tracks him down, only to discover that the boy is an extraordinarily gifted footballer and captain of a team of unruly talents. Having lived with football all his life and survived the tragic 1958 Munich plane disaster, in which eight of his young players were killed, Sir Matt is still committed to continue his work of 'training lads for life' and so begins a thrilling adventure as Sir Matt Busby, comes out of retirement to transform a young group of scallywags into a dream team.
