It was announced today that Academy Award nominated actor Tim Roth will be joining the cast of Discovery Channel's first-ever, scripted mini-series KLONDIKE (wt), playing the role of The Count.

EuropaCorp and Relativity Media have closed deals with Amber Heard (The Rum Diary, Paranoia), Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) and Connie Nielsen (Gladiator) for their Untitled Thriller project starring previously announced Oscar-winner Kevin Costner (The Bodyguard, Dances With Wolves, Open Range). McG (Charlie's Angels, Terminator Salvation) directs the gripping action tale from a screenplay by Luc Besson (Taken, Transporter) and Adi Hasak (From Paris With Love). The film is currently in production in Paris and will continue in Serbia, where it will wrap on April 22nd.

According to Deadline.com, Frank Langella is in talks to play Father Tucker in Grace of Monaco opposite Nicole Kidman in the title role of Princess Grace Kelly, as well as Tim Roth as Prince Rainier III. The film will be directed by Oliver Dahan, who helmed La Vie en Rose.

Then, there is the witty and disturbing remaining of one of the most scandalous and prurient torture porn films ever made - created long before that term was ever coined; in the age of Eli Roth and the SAW series - Wes Craven's harrowing horror revenge tale, THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT. Recent PROMISES, PROMISES on Broadway star Tony Goldwyn was a recent InDepth InterView participant and told me about how pleased he was with this remake and while it does not have the seedy voyeuristic bent of the original, it makes an impact in a new and equally entertaining way. Whether checking out one or all of these superb new Blu-ray releases you are assured a memorable movie experience, just as the temperatures begin to cool and you yearn for nights of warmth inside away from the elements.

VH1 announced today that it will air the 17th annual 'Critics' Choice Movie Awards' on Thursday, January 12 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. This year marks the first year that the show will be held on a Thursday and the fifth straight year the network will televise the event. In addition, Den of Thieves will produce for the second year with Jesse Ignjatovic serving as executive produce for the third year.
