Theatro Sao Pedro premieres the satirical ballet chante The Seven Deadly Sins, the last collaboration between Kurt Weil and Bertolt Brecht. The production will be musically directed by Ira Levin, who will command the Theatro Sao Pedro Orchestra. The Seven Deadly Sins opens on November 5th. In all, there will be 8 recitals until the 14th.

The New York City Ballet has announced that choreographer Lynne Taylor-Corbett, singer Patti LuPone, and NYCB Principal Dancer Wendy Whelan will take part in a 90-minute seminar May 9th, to discuss the creation of Taylor-Corbett's new work, The Seven Deadly Sins.

The New York City Ballet has announced its 2010-2011 season. The season will include some works new to the company, such as a new ballet by acclaimed theater choreographer Susan Stroman (CONTACT, THE PRODUCERS) and a production of Kurt Weill's THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS starring Patti LuPone. It will also include some old favorites such as THE NUTCRACKER, choreographed by George Balanchine, and SWAN LAKE.
Legendary director Harold Prince announced at a recent performance of the acclaimed Manhattan Theatre Club musical LoveMusik that Donna Murphy, who plays Lotte Lenya, and Judy Blazer, who plays Tilly Losch and one of Brecht's Women, will be out of the show until Tuesday evening.
