BANG!, which cleverly riffs on the well-known format of the late night talk show.

8th Annual Presentation of the Live-Action, Animated and Documentary Short Films nominated for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards

The 83rd Academy Awards® nominations were announced live on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced that the field of Documentary Short Subject contenders for the 83rd Academy Awards® has been narrowed to eight films, of which three to five will earn Oscar® nominations.

'Tongzhi in Love' and 2008 Oscar nominee 'The Betrayal (Nerakhoon)' will screen as the final installment in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 28th annual 'Contemporary Documentaries' series on Wednesday, June 9, at 7 p.m. at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood. Admission is free.

Starting May 27, 2010, Lucille Lortel Award-winning actress, Iris Bahr will star in the new HDNet comedy series, 'Svetlana'. The series explores the trials and tribulations of Svetlana Maksimovoskaya (Bahr), a Russian madam and political consultant. 'Svetlana' airs Thursday, May 27 at 10:30 p.m. ET on HDNet.

Two sneak preview episodes from the second season of the irreverent and critically-acclaimed Starz comedy series, 'Party Down,' will be made available for free on-demand and online viewing beginning April 21st. 'Party Down' returns to Starz for its much-anticipated second season on Friday, April 23rd at 10:00 PM (ET/PT).

The Friars Club Comedy Film Festival will open its inaugural year on Thursday, September 24th with the U.S. premiere of 'A Serious Man' - the new film from Academy Award-winning writer/directors Joel & Ethan Coen. The Focus Features release will subsequently open in select U.S. cities on Friday, October 2nd.
