Primary Stages announced today that the Primary Stages 2017 Gala will take place on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 6:30 pm. The event, which will be held at Tribeca 360º (10 Desbrosses Street), will honor Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty, the Tony-winning songwriting team of Ragtime, Once on This Island, and Anastasia (Artistic Honorees); Janet B. Rosen and Marvin Rosen, producers of In Transit on Broadway (Producer Honorees); and Jose Mendez and Katie Graziano of The Excel Group and MIC Floor Covering, LLC (Corporate Honorees).

Following the enormous popularity of the Tony Award winning musical HAMILTON, The Library of Congress has now digitized a collection of historical documents written by the Founding Father. The collection, consisting of approximately 12,000 items dating from 1708 to 1917, are now available online

Primary Stages has announced the lineup of guests for talkbacks that will happen after select shows of their first production of the 2017/18 season, the New York Premiere of THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO THOMAS JEFFERSON, CHARLES DICKENS AND COUNT LEO TOLSTOY: DISCORD written by Scott Carter and directed by Kimberly Senior.

Daveed Diggs stole the hearts of audiences when he leapt into the spotlight in the original cast of 'Hamilton.' Earning instant acclaim and nabbing a Tony for Best Performance by a Featured actor in a musical, the Oakland-born rapper shot to stardom throughout his run as Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in Lin-Manuel Miranda's hit hip hop history lesson.

What can I say about HAMILTON that hasn't already been said one hundred times over? I was excited to attend opening night at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. I haven't seen so much over.the.top yet genuine enthusiasm for a show since the original Dreamgirls with Jennifer Holliday in the 1980s. Audience screamed and cheered the entrances of every major character. At the top, I was so propelled into the setting and the action of the American Revolution in 1776 that I forgot I was watching an historical show...and that says a lot because I am not a fan of rap music. However, for those of you like me, you are in for a treat, because its heart-pounding beats drive the show with a thrilling nonstop execution like no other.

Tony Award winner Leslie Odom Jr. spoke TMZ this week about the current controversy regarding the removal of Confederate statues and monuments which are still displayed throughout the country. The former HAMILTON star shared his belief that no statue should be 'off the table

Epic Theatre Company is launching its new season with Anna Deavere Smith's politically evocative House Arrest:  A Search for American Character In and Around the White House, Past and Present.  The one-woman show has been transformed into a riveting ensemble piece featuring some of Rhode Island's finest actors.

The story of Lewis and Clark's expedition to the Pacific Ocean is one that we've all heard a million times, so why bother telling the same old story again? A new musical called Great Frontier: A Poorly Researched Musical About Lewis and Clark has been doing just that at the 2017 New York Theatre Festival's Summerfest.
