How Emmy & Grammy-winning comedian-actor PATTON OSWALT makes time to tour with his stand-up act is a mystery considering he currently stars in no less than four TV series this year.

From Thursday, February 14 through Thursday, February 21, BAM presents Programmers' Notebook: On Love, the first in a new recurring series in which BAM's film programming team responds to a thought-provoking theme. This wide-ranging survey presents some of cinema's most perceptive portraits of this fundamental emotion in all of its disparate forms-romantic, familial, fraternal, self-love, love of nature, love as passion, love as pain, and everything in between.

Love Actually Live, a multimedia-concert celebration of the soundtrack to one of the most beloved holiday movies of all time from the team behind Los Angeles' award-winning For The Record series, is featured this holiday season at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts from Tuesday, December 4, through Monday, December 31, 2018. Co-Produced by the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts, Shane Scheel and Siobhan O'Neill and inspired by the Universal Pictures/Working Title motion picture written by Richard Curtis, this world-premiere production, presented by special arrangement with Universal Theatrical Group, transforms The Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater into a giant, immersive, cinema for the modern day. The production, a one-of-a-kind presentation is performed live by an all-star cast and 15-piece orchestra, includes songs from the hit film, including 'Christmas Is All Around,' 'The Trouble with Love Is,' and 'Both Sides Now.'

According to Variety, actor and magician Ricky Jay has died at age 72. His manager, Winston Simone, confirmed that he died of natural causes.

For something completely different this holiday season, you might want to consider Signature Theatre's latest offering. Billy Elliot the Musical is not your standard holiday fare by any means. Sure, there are big production numbers, but the story features important underlying themes of labor tensions, economic inequality, and acceptance. BAM and Wordless Music present Terrence Malick's Voyage of Time with a live orchestral and choral performance of its powerful score. A "vast and visually overwhelming nature documentary" (The New Yorker) that was 30 years in the making, Voyage of Time is both a stunning visual fantasia and science documentary, capturing and envisioning the life cycle of the universe. It is an expansion of the "birth of the universe" segment from Malick's acclaimed 2011 film The Tree of Life.

Signature Theatre announces the full cast and creative team for Billy Elliot the Musical directed and choreographed by Signature Theatre Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Signature's Passion, West Side Story).

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and rediscovery of musical gems from the past, presents the Off-Broadway premiere of the acclaimed new musical Midnight at The Never Get, with book, music, and lyrics by Mark Sonnenblick, co-conceived by Sam Bolen, by arrangement with Visceral Entertainment and Mark Cortale Productions.  Directed by Max Friedman, with choreography by Andrew Palermo, and music direction/arrangements by Adam Podd, the cast will feature Sam Bolen, Jeremy Cohen, and Jon J. Peterson.  Performances begin Tuesday, October 2, 2018 for a limited engagement through Sunday afternoon, November 4, 2018 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Opening Night is Thursday evening, October 11, 2018 at 6:45 p.m.

After earning rave reviews in a highly successful extended run of 'Paper Dolls,' ARIEL FELIX will next be seen on the big screen in the much-anticipated 'Mile 22.'

The Park Theatre's River Street Theatre (RST) will screen the 2018 Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour, a 91-minute theatrical program of seven short films selected from this year's Festival, on Saturday, August 4 at 7pm and Wednesday, August 8 at 2pm. Short on time but big on style, the Short Film Tour features a wide variety of storytelling, including fiction, documentary and animation from around the globe. Three of the films in the program won Short Film Jury Awards at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. 

2019 marks the 25th anniversary of Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece, Pulp Fiction. To celebrate, Hollywood's raucous concert troupe, 'For The Record,' is taking their show on the road. Just in time for their eight-year anniversary, For The Record returned to The Sorting Room at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts to reinvent the hit that started it all. For The Record: Tarantino.

Philly Improv Theater (PHIT) has announced Paul F. Tompkins's Spontaneanation as the headlining act for the theater's first We The People Improv Festival, July 11 - 15, 2018. The full schedule is also available and ticket sales began May 11.
