GLAAD Winner Beebo Brinker To Close On 4/27

BEEBO BRINKER CHRONICLES, the 2008 GLAAD Media Award-winning stage adaptation of Ann Bannon's groundbreaking pulp novels, will end its limited engagement run as scheduled on April 27. It is written by Kate Moira Ryan (25 Questions for a Jewish Mother, 2007 GLAAD Media Award Winner for Best Play) and Linda S. Chapman (Gertrude and Alice: A Likeness to Loving) and directed by Leigh Silverman (Well).

'Beebo Brinker' Closes 4/27

Beebo Brinker Chronicles, the 2008 GLAAD Media Award-winning stage adaptation of Ann Bannon's groundbreaking pulp novels, will end its limited engagement run as scheduled on April 27. It is written by Kate Moira Ryan (25 Questions for a Jewish Mother, 2007 GLAAD Media Award Winner for Best Play) and Linda S. Chapman (Gertrude and Alice: A Likeness to Loving) and directed by Leigh Silverman (Well). As of closing, it will have played 17 previews and 63 regular performances at 37 Arts theater in Manhattan.

Maxwell and Other B'way Stars Form Cast of 'Substitution'

The Playwrights Realm, Off-Broadway's newest theater company, willpresent the World Premiere of Anton Dudley's SUBSTITUTION at SoHo Playhouse. The play was written specifically for Tony Award nominee Jan Maxwell, who stars in the production, directed by Katherine Kovner.

Xanthe Elbrick Joins Cast of 'Beebo Brinker'

Xanthe Elbrick, Tony Award and Drama Desk Award nominee and winner of Theatre World Award winner for Coram Boy, will join the cast of the 2008 GLAAD Media Award winner BEEBO BRINKER CHRONICLES on Tuesday, March 25th.

Lily Tomlin & Jane Wagner Join Producing Team of 'Beebo Brinker'

Tony Award winner Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner have joined the producing team of Off-Broadway's Beebo Brinker Chronicles. This stage adaptation of Ann Bannon's groundbreaking, award-winning pulp novels of the 1950s begins previews February 19 at 37 Arts.

'Fight Girl Battle World,' a Sci-Fi Action Odyssey, Opens March 9

Vampire Cowboys Theatre Company, now in its 6th season, will present the world premiere production of its sci-fi adventure Fight Girl Battle World, created by co-artistic directors Qui Nguyen and Robert Ross Parker, written by Nguyen, directed by Parker, with fight choreography by Nguyen. Performances begin March 6 at Center Stage, NY (48 West 21st Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues). Fight Girl Battle World will officially open on Sunday, March 9 at 8PM with performances through March 30.

'Beebo Brinker' Extends Run to Oct.28, to Transfer Off-Bway

Hourglass Group in association with Piece by Piece Productions has announced the transfer of their acclaimed production of The Beebo Brinker Chronicles to an Off-Broadway contract. Performances will now run through October 28 at The Fourth Street Theatre.
