TACT/The Actors Company Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for Natural Affection by William Inge, the first production of the company's 21st Season. Directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Jenn Thompson, performances begin at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Opening night is set for Thursday, September 26 at 7:30pm. Performances will continue through October 26, 2013.

Producer Cedric Yau has announced that Gary Littman & Matt Lutz will step into the roles of Passepartout & Detective Fix (respectively) in Around the World in 80 Days, beginning today, September 3rd. They will replace John Gregorio & Stephen Guarino, whose last performance was Sunday, September 1st. Guy Lemonnier heads the cast as the phlegmatic Phileas Fogg, with Shirine Babb & Jimmy Ray Bennett rounding out the ensemble cast. Rachel Klein directs.

Written by Theresa Rebeck, creator of the TV show Smash, Seminar is a contemporary comedy which tells the story of four young writers who hire a world-famous novelist to teach a seminar. When tempers, egos and libidos flare, these students end up getting the schooling of their lives. 'Theresa Rebeck is one of the main reasons we are doing this show. She's a wonderfully talented and very funny writer,' Symes added. 'I couldn't pass up the opportunity to produce her newest play.'

IYOM, THE WINTER'S TALE and More Set for WorkShop Theater's 20th Anniversary Season

WorkShop Theater Company, and Artistic Director Scott C. Sickles, has announced its 20th season, celebrating its diverse history. WorkShop's Main Stage Season begins in September with the world premiere of Lou-Lou Igbokwe's Iyom; November marks the return of Philip Hall's highly acclaimed musical adaptation of Mark Twain's Life on the Mississippi; and the spring will bring director Ryan Lee's vision of Shakespeare's challenging classic, The Winter's Tale. In addition to developing new plays and reviving classics, WorkShop has broadened its scope in the past few years by fostering new short plays, musicals, and children's theater. This fall, WorkShop welcomes a new Managing Director, Joseph Giardina, who is also an arts education consultant for the New York City Department of Education's (NYCDOE) Office of the Arts and Special Projects.

Perhaps the defining characteristic of Soho Rep, under the artistic direction of Sarah Benson, is the institution's commitment to artists creating surprisingly big theatrical events in its very small space on Walker Street. Soho Rep's 2013-14 season, announced today, provides ample evidence of that commitment, comprising two shows that are among the biggest the organization has ever produced: the New York premiere of David Adjmi's Marie Antoinette, directed by Rebecca Taichman and featuring Marin Ireland (Blasted); and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' An Octoroon, directed by Benson.

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd just announced that the Alley Theatre will produce the premiere of Theresa Rebeck's new play Foolduring the 2013-2014 Season, February 21 through March 16, 2014, opening February 26. This production replaces Never The Sinner which will be postponed to a future season.

Carner and Gregor have announced the winners of the BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA V casting contest. Eight winners were selected from over 100 submissions received from college students around the country. Winners were selected by a four-person judging panel comprised of Casting Directors Michael Cassara and Jason Najjoum, Concert Director Marlo Hunter, and Concert Producer Alina Gutierrez. Carner and Gregor were not involved in the judging process. After four sold-out editions, Carner & Gregor's BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA is back for its fifth year. The concert will take place Today, August 5th at (le) Poisson Rouge. Showtime is 8PM. Doors open at 7PM.
