Wasatch Theatrical Ventures presents THE DIARY OF Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman, directed by Mark Belnick, produced by Racquel Lehrman/Theatre Planners, playing today, August 3 through August 25 as a guest production at the NoHo Arts Center located in the heart of the NoHo Arts District. The drama is a powerful, chillingly honest and stirring version of the iconic andimpassioned story of eight Dutch Jews- including the incomparable Anne - hiding from the Nazis in a cramped Amsterdam storage attic.

An all-star cast will take the stage at The 5th Avenue Theatre this fall in the celebrated organization's 15th new musical, Secondhand Lions. Based on the beloved film starring Michael Caine and Robert Duvall, Secondhand Lions springs to musical life in Seattle with a superbly talented cast of Broadway stars and Seattle musical theater actors. Lead by Tony Award nominees Gregg Edelman and Mark Jacoby, this adventure story also features Jason Danieley, Jenny Powers, Kevin Earley,Jared Michael Brown, Kendra Kassebaum, Sophia Anne Caruso, and Justin Huertas. Johnny Rabe, star of Broadway's A Christmas Story, takes center stage as Walter.

The critics and audiences alike are raving about Julien Schwab's mind-bending comedy rogerandtom at HERE's Main Stage (145 Sixth Avenue - enter on Dominick). The comedy, which returned to HERE and moved to the Main Stage for an extended summer engagement through August 24th is presented by Personal Space Theatrics. rogerandtom is directed by Nicholas Cotz, the company's artistic director. City Theatre Receives $118,000 Grant from Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation

City Theatre has received an $118,500 grant from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation to fund arts education outreach in West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania schools. This grant, along with a new partnership with West Liberty University's Center for Arts and Education, will facilitate the theatre's Young Playwrights Program, which features professional development workshops, in-class playwriting workshops, and field trips to City Theatre's South Side location to experience live, professional, high-caliber theatre.

Everything is Ours, written by Nikole Beckwith, directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt, and produced by Devon Berkshire. Performances begin Saturday, August 31st at 8:30pm, at HERE Arts Center, 145 Sixth Avenue, (entrance on Dominick St. 1 Block South of Spring). Opening night is set for Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:00pm. The show must close Saturday, September 21st. Magic Theatre Awarded Kenneth Rainin Foundation Impact Grant of $150,000

The Kenneth Rainin Foundation recently awarded one of its four first-round Impact Grants to Magic Theatre, the Bay Area's original home for new plays and playwrights. Magic Theatre will use this three-year capacity building grant to support fund development, board development, and audience assessment. Magic Theatre's capacity building activities for the next three years will be supported by a grant of $150,000.

After recently announcing over 200 hours of original programming, Ovation, America's only arts network, has additionally acquired all episodes of critically acclaimed series SMASH from NBCUniversal Cable & New Media. Ovation will debut the series beginning tonight, July 19 at 8pm ET. The announcement was made today by Robert Weiss, Ovation's Chief Creative Officer.

Carner and Gregor have announced the winners of the BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA V casting contest. Eight winners were selected from over 100 submissions received from college students around the country. Winners were selected by a four-person judging panel comprised of Casting Directors Michael Cassara and Jason Najjoum, Concert Director Marlo Hunter, and Concert Producer Alina Gutierrez. Carner and Gregor were not involved in the judging process. After four sold-out editions, Carner & Gregor's BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA is back for its fifth year. The concert will take place Monday, August 5th at (le) Poisson Rouge. Showtime is 8PM. Doors open at 7PM.
