Tonight, December 7, TheatreWorks New Milford will debut the hilarious musical tribute written in the spirit of "Forbidden Broadway," THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS (THE MUSICAL!) with music by Eric Rockwell, lyrics by Joanne Bogart, and book by Rockwell and Bogart. Curtain goes up at 8:00 p.m. on this five-week run.

100 Shades of Green presents the world premiere of The Fourth Messenger, a brand new musical by celebrated local playwright Tanya Shaffer and popular singer/songwriter Vienna Teng. What if the Buddha were a woman? What if she were alive today? How would the world view her life and teachings differently? Loosely inspired by the life of the historical Buddha, the captivating new musical imagines a modern-day "awakened one" named Mama Sid.

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Rocco Landesman announced yesterday that TheatreWorks is one of 832 non-profit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. TheatreWorks will receive a $30,000 grant to support the creation of new plays and musicals through the New Works Initiative. The 832 grant awards total $23.3 million and encompass 13 artistic disciplines and fields.

Jump For Joy Productions presents Adam Bock’s comedy The Drunken City, directed by Misti B. Wills (In Search of Euphoria, New World Stages). Arizona Theatre Company presents the Arizona Premiere of "Jane Austen's Emma" a new romantic musical comedy that brings Jane Austen's masterpiece to life. The F.U.D.G.E. Marin Theatre Company continues its 2012/13 Season with a family friendly production of It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, which runs during the holiday season from November 23 to December 16. Jon Tracy directs Joe Landry's live radio play adaptation of Frank Capra's film It's a Wonderful Life. Opening night is on Tuesday, November 27.

The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company will present 'Louisa May Alcott's Christmas,' adapted and performed by ELTC's Artistic Director, Gayle Stahlhuth.

TheatreWorks and Goethe-Institut will present Eszter Salamon performing at 72-13 on 23 and 24 November. In Dance for Nothing, Salamon will be performing choreography to John Cage's music, Lecture on Nothing (1949), followed by a discussion.
