TheatreWorks to Open LITTLE WOMEN, Dec 7

The Morrison Center announces its signature Velma V. Morrison Family Theatre Series. TheatreWorks New Milford to Open THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, 9/20

On Friday, September 20, TheatreWorks New Milford will present the black Irish comedy THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, by Tony Award-nominated playwright and Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin McDonagh ('In Bruges,' 'Seven Psychopaths'). The curtain goes up at 8:00 p.m. for a four-week run.

TheatreWorks New Milford Announces Fall Youth Programs; Registration Now Open

TheatreWorks Kids registration is now open for four brand-new fall programs for area youths. INDIVIDUAL VOCAL LESSONS with professional Zoe Vandermeer will begin on Tuesday September 17 for 10 weeks. Students will learn how to breathe for singing, improve their range, develop strength, power and flexibility in their voice, and gain confidence through a step by step training method that is clear, concise and reliable. Ms. Vandermeer has 23 years of experience as a voice teacher and specializes in training children, actors, speakers, and those in need of vocal rehabilitation. Cutting Ball Theater to Open 15th Season with World Premiere of SIDEWINDERS, 10/18-11/17

Cutting Ball Theater opens its 15th season with the World Premiere of SIDEWINDERS by Basil Kreimendahl. M. Graham Smith makes his main stage directing debut at Cutting Ball with SIDEWINDERS, featuring DavEnd, Sara Moore,Donald Currie, and Norman Muñoz. SIDEWINDERS plays October 18 through November 17 at the Cutting Ball Theater in residence at EXIT on Taylor (277 Taylor Street) in San Francisco. Lookingglass Theatre Company Presents THE NORTH CHINA LOVER, 9/25 - 11/10

Lookingglass Theatre Company presents the World Premiere stage adaptation of Marguerite Duras' The North China Lover, translated by Leigh Hafrey and adapted and directed by Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman. The North China Lover runs September 25 - November 10, 2013.

Chomet, Sullivan, Greenspan and More Among TCG & Fox Foundation's Actor Fellowship Recipients

The William & Eva Fox Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, have announced the eighth round of Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowship recipients. The program is designed to support actors' professional and artistic development, to enrich relationships between actors and nonprofit theatres and to ensure continued professional commitment to live theatre. Funded by the Fox Foundation and administered by TCG, the fellowship is one of only a few programs of its kind for actors in the country.

'FORUM', SPAMALOT & More Set for MCCC's Kelsey Theatre's 2013-14 Season

Something familiar, something peculiar, something for everyone, a comedy tonight! Mercer County Community College's (MCCC) Kelsey Theatre kicks off its 2013-14 season with a trip back to Roman times when PinnWorth Productions presents 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' tonight, Sept. 6 to 15. This high-energy classic starts off a colorful season of 22 full-length dramas and musical productions, along with eight shows for the younger set through the Kelsey Kids Series, performed by traveling professional troupes and local companies.

Brian d'Arcy James, Malcolm Gets and More to Join Ethan Hawke in LCT's MACBETH; Cast Announced!

Lincoln Center Theater, under the direction of Producing Artistic Director Andre Bishop, has announced that Bianca Amato, Shirine Babb, John Patrick Doherty, Austin Durant, Richard Easton, Francesca Faridany, Stephanie Fieger, Malcolm Gets, John Glover, Ben Horner, Ruy Iskandar, Brian d'Arcy James, Byron Jennings, Aaron Krohn, Jeremiah Maestas, Christopher McHale, Jonny Orsini, Sam Poon, Triney Sandoval, Nathan Stark, Daniel Sunjata, Patrick Vaill, Tyler Lansing Weaks and Derek Wilson will join Ethan Hawke and Anne-Marie Duff in its upcoming production of Shakespeare's MACBETH, directed by Jack O'Brien. The production, which will feature a cast of 27, will begin previews on Thursday, October 24 and open on Thursday, November 21 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).

United Solo to Present Sean Patrick Monahan's DIVA, 10/7 & 24

United Solo proudly presents Less Than Rent Theatre's World Premiere of Sean Patrick Monahan's Diva on October 7th and October 23rd at Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street). The production will be directed by James Presson (FringeNYC Award Winner for Directing in 2010). Designs will feature lights by Gary Slootskiy (Independents), choreography by Jennifer Delac (Beckett in Benghazi), and fight design by Cory Asinofsky (Richard 3).

AFTER THE REVOLUTION Kicks Off Aurora Theatre Company's 22nd Season Tonight

Aurora Theatre Company opens its 22nd season with the Bay Area Premiere of Obie-winning playwright Amy Herzog's (4000 Miles, Belleville, The Great God Pan) family drama AFTER THE REVOLUTION. Joy Carlin (Body Awareness, Jack Goes Boating,Awake and Sing!) directs this drama about what we do with history and how we appropriate it for our own personal needs. Featuring Adrian Anchondo, Jessica Bates, Peter Kybart, Sarah Mitchell, Ellen Ratner, Rolf Saxon, Victor Talmadge, and Pamela Gaye Walker, AFTER THE REVOLUTION plays tonight, August 30 through September 29 at the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley.

RSO FEST to Celebrate New Musicals by Ryan Scott Oliver at 54 Below, 10/7-11/18

Very Intense Productions and Your Theatrics | Jeremy Youett and Jacob Harvey present RSO FEST, a series of concerts showcasing three new musicals by composer Ryan Scott Oliver. RSO FEST will launch at New York's premier Supper Club, 54 Below (254 West 54th Street, NYC), on Monday, October 7 with the 35mm: A Musical Exhibition (produced in association with Tony Award-winning producer John Johnson), followed by Darling (produced in association with Grammy Award-winner Kurt Deutsch and Sh-k-boom) on Monday, November 4, and then Jasper In Deadland (produced in association with Prospect Theater Company) completing the trilogy on Monday November 18.

Theater for the New City to Present David Ippolito & Gretchen Crier's POSSIBILITY JUNKIE, 9/28-10/20

'Possibility Junkie' is a new musical theater work by David Ippolito (music, lyrics, book) and directed by Gretchen Cryer ('I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It On the Road'), who co-authored the book. The story is based loosely on the career of David Ippolito, who is known to hundreds of thousands of people across the country and around the world as 'That Guitar Man from Central Park.' Part singer/songwriter, part storyteller, part social-commentator and humorist, Ippolito has become famous for his simple catch phrase, 'It's just us,' and his ability to turn a large crowd of strangers into a group of friends. Theater for the New City will present the world premiere September 28 to October 20, 2013.

TheatreWorks Opens OTHER DESERT CITIES Tonight

TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, presents the Regional Premiere of OTHER DESERT CITIES by acclaimed playwright Jon Robin Baitz (The Substance of Fire, A Fair Country, Three Hotels). In this gripping Broadway hit, nominated for a Tony Award for Best Play, a Hollywood star's desert estate glows with Christmas cheer. But home for the holidays is daughter Brooke, a novelist whose tell-all memoir threatens to rip the politically-divided clan apart. Broadway vets Kandis Chappell and James Sutorius will star as Polly and Lyman Wyeth, Brooke's staunch right-wing parents. Laura Schellhardt & Meridith Friedman Receive Residencies at Stage Left Theatre

Stage Left Theatre announces the recipients of the Downstage Left Playwright Residencies for Season 32. Residencies are designed to help playwrights take a project from the conceptual stage all the way to a production-ready script. Playwrights work closely with ensemble directors and members of the literary team to design a process tailored to the particular needs of their project.
