WALDEN Musical Gets 10/7 Reading at Judson

Walden, a story-theatre style musical adaptation of Thoreau's best seller, featuring his work on the underground railroad and his star-crossed romance will be performed as a stage reading on Monday October 7th at The Gym at Judson Memorial Church. Book and Lyrics for Walden are written by Katherine Brann Fredricks and the music is composed by Bert Draesel. Brian Maschka directs a cast of eleven including Drew Aber, Cole Burden, Tyrone Davis, Jr, Susannah Jones, Lisa CM Lamothe, Rob Langeder, Heather Lundstedt, Ronnie Nelson, Doug Shapiro, Thalia St. Hubert and Stephanie Umoh.

Dave Malloy and Susan Turchin Set for Post-Show Events at Prospect Theater's TAMAR OF THE RIVER, 10/9 & 16

"Crossing The River", a discussion featuring interfaith leaders led by Reverend Susan Turchin, and "The Power of the Voice", a discussion with innovative contemporary theater composers hosted by Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812's Dave Malloy, will be offered as free post-performance events following upcoming performances of Prospect Theater Company's world premiere of TAMAR OF THE RIVER. The announcement was made today by Cara Reichel and Melissa Huber, the Producing Artistic Director and Managing Director of Prospect Theater Company.

SOSE to Present CIVILIZATION (ALL YOU CAN EAT), Begin. 10/11

Award-winning theatre company, Son of Semele Ensemble (SOSE), will present the West Coast premiere of Civilization (All You Can Eat), by playwright Jason Grote. Directed by SOSE ensemble member Don Boughton and choreographed by Ken Roht, Civilization opens October 11th at the Son of Semele Theater.

TNC Presents David Ippolito & Gretchen Crier's POSSIBILITY JUNKIE, Now thru 10/20

'Possibility Junkie' is a new musical theater work by David Ippolito (music, lyrics, book) and directed by Gretchen Cryer ('I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It On the Road'), who co-authored the book. The story is based loosely on the career of David Ippolito, who is known to hundreds of thousands of people across the country and around the world as 'That Guitar Man from Central Park.' Part singer/songwriter, part storyteller, part social-commentator and humorist, Ippolito has become famous for his simple catch phrase, 'It's just us,' and his ability to turn a large crowd of strangers into a group of friends. Theater for the New City will present the world premiere tonight, September 28 to October 20, 2013.

MTI Broadway Junior to Launch Children's Musicals Based on MAGIC TREE HOUSE Book Series, Fall 2014

Coeurage Theatre Co. to Present LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, 10/11-11/10

Coeurage Theatre Company, LA's 'Pay What You Want' Company, has announced the final production of its 2013 season, Shakespeare'sLove's Labour's Lost, directed by Ted Barton. There will be one preview performance on Friday, October 11 at 8pm and opening is set for Saturday, October 12 at 8pm. Love's Labour's Lost will play through November 10 only at the 2nd Stage Theatre in Hollywood.
