The Old Globe presents the first show of its 2017-2018 Season, the world premiere musical Benny & Joon, with book by Kirsten Guenther, music by Nolan Gasser, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein. Theatre for a New Audience has announced the retirement of Henry Christensen III as Chairman of the Theatre's Board, a position he has held since 2012, due to health reasons. Theodore C. Rogers and Robert Buckholz will succeed Mr. Christensen as TFANA's Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively. Mr. Christensen will continue as a member of the Board of Directors.

The Old Globe today announced that due to popular demand, the exciting Globe-commissioned world premiere comedy Ken Ludwig's Robin Hood! has now extended again, through September 10! This is the second and final extension for the hit show, which previously announced a one-week addition through September 3. Hartford Stage Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and Managing Director Michael Stotts announced today the cast and creative team for William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Tresnjak. According to The New York Times, legendary playwright Adrienne Kennedy has written a new play that will premiere in January of 2018. This is the playwright's first new work in nine years. The play, titled HE BROUGHT HER HEART BACK IN A BOX, will be produced by Theatre for a New Audience.
