The Rochester Broadway Theatre League's ON YOUR FEET! and Living Healthy Education Program, sponsored in part by Glover Crask Charitable Trust, is a partnership between Rochester Broadway Theatre League (RBTL) and the City of Rochester's Recreational Centers (R-Centers), integrating the arts and Touring Broadway into a dual-language theater arts physical fitness program in connection with the ON YOUR FEET! touring production. With over 200 participants, this program will promote ways to build a culture of healthy living and advocates physical well-being through active participation in the performing arts; specifically the music, dance and story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan. Participants will exercise together, acquire the tools to design a healthy lifestyle plan, receive resources and engage in a Broadway theater experience, together as a family.

When playwright Ernest Thompson was growing up, he and his family summered at a lakefront cabin in Maine. That special place was the inspiration for On Golden Pond, his extraordinarily popular, bittersweet play about love and aging, recrimination and reconciliation. Since its Broadway premiere in 1979, the play has been seen in more than 40 countries, and performed in some 30 languages. On Golden Pond opens at Palm Beach Dramaworks onFebruary 2 and continues through February 25, with specially priced previews on January 31 and February 1.

'A work of fiction freely based on fact,' the play speculates on the tempestuous friendship between playwrights Tennessee Williams and William Inge . PBD Producing Artistic Director William Hayes , who suggested the idea to Teachout, directs the premiere, which runs through December 31, with specially priced previews on December 6 and 7.

Coyote StageWorks, the Coachella Valleybased award-winning Actors' Equity professional theater company will kick off its 2018 theatrical season with a production of Dirty Blonde, a popular three-character comedy about the legendary Mae West, starring Steve Gunderson, Bets Malone, and Larry Raben, and directed by James Gruessing. On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, local teacher Jason Ford was presented with the national 2017 League Educator Apple Award at Francis Parker School #23 by Rachel Reiner, Director of Audience Engagement at The Broadway League, based in NYC. Now in its fifteenth year, the award acknowledges the efforts of local teachers and advocates who support programs relating to Broadway or Touring Broadway shows, promoting further development of theatre education. Jason accepted the award amongst an audience of students and peers who cheered in support of his achievement.
