GableStage Producing Artistic Director Joseph Adler and Palm Beach Dramaworks Producing Artistic Director William Hayes have just announced that their companies will be working together to co-produce Indecent.

Palm Beach Dramaworks is excited to launch its One Humanity Tour, a project designed for sixth-grade students that aims to contribute to the development of informed, thoughtful, and compassionate citizens. The One Humanity Tour brings Eric Coble's powerful play, Swagger, to northern Palm Beach County middle schools, free of charge. Coble was commissioned to write a balanced play addressing the tensions that our community and our nation are experiencing between citizens and law enforcement.

The Palm Canyon Theatre brings to the stage the family friendly musical OLIVER from September 22 through October 1 at their iconic theatre in the heart of downtown Palm Springs. Straight out of training at the Palm Canyon Theatre's Summer Kids Camp, about 30 talented young actors, as well as company members and professionals will come together to bring the English musical Oliver! to the stage in Palm Springs. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Original Score, Lionel Bart wrote the Oliver! music and lyrics based on the classic Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist.

3-D Theatricals (3DT) rings in its 2017-1018 season at both the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center (RBPAC) and the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) with Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, a musical comedy from the Broadway creative team of the 12-time Tony Award winning smash hit The Producers. The production, with music and lyrics by Brooks and a book by Thomas Meehan, is a hilariously tuneful show based on the 1974 smash hit film Young Frankenstein which was a wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Mary Shelley classic from the comic genius of Mel Brooks. David Lamoureux directs with Corey Hirsch serving as Musical Director and Daniel Smith as Choreographer. Palm Beach Dramaworks takes great pride in announcing that Charles Busch, the celebrated playwright, actor, director, cabaret artist, and drag legend, will appear in concert today evening, September 16 at 8pm, at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre. An Evening with Charles Busch marks the kickoff of a new series, OutStage@PBD, which offers special performances and events tailored to the LGBTQ community.  

WaterTower Theatre Board President Paul Shultz announced today that Managing Director Gregory Patterson will be leaving WaterTower Theatre at the conclusion of his current contract on September 30, 2017.

Broadway Theatre League has announced that individual tickets go on sale for the 2017-18 Broadway In South Bend Series Monday, September 18, 2017 at The Morris Center for the Performing Arts.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts launches the year-long international centennial celebration of Leonard Bernstein with the opening weekend of Leonard Bernstein at 100.

Coyote StageWorks, the Coachella Valley-based award-winning Actors' Equity professional theater company, announced that its ninth season will include productions of two highly entertaining stage plays, presented at the Palm Springs Art Museum's Annenberg Theater, as well as the return of much-anticipated free Play Dates staged reading series. The Coyote StageWorks season will open with a performance of Dirty Blonde for nine performances, running February 2 11, 2018. This will be followed by the production The Cocktail Hour, running March 23 - April 1 for nine performances. The Play Dates series will run on selected Sundays from November through June at the Camelot Theater, part of the Palm Springs Cultural Center.

Here's to the Ladies, a musical revue, will be Desert Ensemble Theatre's 2017-18 Season Opening Gala for its seventh season. For the first time since the event's inception in 2014, this show will offer a second performance: Friday, Nov. 17 includes a pre-show reception at 6pm followed by a 7pm performance; and Sat., Nov. 18, a 7pm performance only.

Earlier this week, the 'Bathroom Bill,' a controversial bill that would require people to use restrooms and facilities that match the sex on their birth certificates, was back on the table for discussion in Texas. Performing Arts Fort Worth - the non-profit organization that manages Bass Performance Hall - commented that although they 'generally [shy] away from involvement in political or social issues, [they feel] particularly passionate about this topic,' inspiring PAFW President & CEO Dione Kennedy to send the below letter to Joe Straus, Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives. The letter was a collaborative letter, signed by several leaders in local arts organizations. The bill has since died in Texas Legislature, for now.

Coyote StageWorks, the Coachella Valley-based award-winning Actors' Equity professional theater company, announced that it received an impressive 13 nominations for its performances of Six Dance Lessons In Six Weeks and The Lady With All The Answers in the previous season. The winners for all categories will be announced at the Desert Theatre League's annual awards presentation in October.  Since it was founded, Coyote StageWorks has received 65 Desert Theatre League Awards.

Uptown Players closes its 2016-2017 season with the regional premiere of the new comedy by Charles Busch, The Tribute Artist, running August 25 through September 10, 2017, at the Kalita Humphreys Theater.

Shelley Keelor, who received rave reviews for her performance as the Beggar Woman in Palm Beach Dramaworks' acclaimed production of Sweeney Todd, brings her popular show, Sentimental Journey, to the cabaret series at the Perlberg Studio Theatre from August 18 - 20.

WaterTower Theatre is excited to be continuing one of our most talked about and anticipated traditions, the Community Cast Party!  CCP Co-Chairs Stan Graner, Corky Pledger, Deborah Staggs and Maureen Anderson today announced details for the 4th Annual Community Cast Party.  The party will be held on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at WaterTower 's home, the Addison Theatre Centre from 7 pm to 10 pm.  The Community Cast Party is designed to attract a wide audience of patrons, partiers, and food lovers who are interested in supporting WaterTower Theatre while enjoying an evening of entertainment with cuisine offered from many fine local restaurants.  Attendees will have a unique opportunity to mix and mingle with artists from the DFW theatre community at the "open house" style event, where everyone is welcome.
