ONE NIGHT Previews Postponed Until 11/6; Opening Pushed to 11/20

Cherry Lane Theatre Artistic Director Angelina Fiordellisi and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that previews of the world premiere of Charles Fuller's One Night...directed by Clinton Turner Davis, have been postponed, and will now beginWednesday, November 6, at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. Opening night is set for Wednesday, November 20, at 7pm; the production is now scheduled to run through December 15.

Theater Resources Unlimited to Host TRU Love Benefit, 11/17

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces a preliminary lineup of star performers, and a luminous array of theater notables including Andre Bishop, Terrence McNally and James Naughton, who will help celebrate three extraordinary people at the annual TRU Love Benefit, Honoring Friendship, Remembering Friends. The trio of TRU friends who will be remembered and honored are producer Randall Wreghitt (Little Women, Beauty Queen of Leenane, Grey Gardens, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Golda's Balcony, As Bees in Honey Drown, The Food Chain) who died unexpectedly at the age of 55 in May 2011, and will be posthumously remembered with the 2013 TRU Spirit of Theater Award; Michael Feingold, former critic with the Village Voice, who will receive the TRU Humanitarian Award for educating generations of theatergoers about the historical, social and cultural context of the shows he reviews; and TRU member and program director Patricia R. Klausner, who will be recognized and applauded with the TRU Entrepreneur Award for her ongoing dedication in both the not-for-profit and commercial producing arenas.

Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey to Present SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES, 10/28

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will present its popular fourth annual Something Wicked This Way Comes - a one-night-only event - on Monday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m. The event kicks off Halloween week and will be held at the F.M. WAM Theatre to Present 'EMILIE,' 11/7-24

WAM Theatre announces its Northeast regional premiere of "Emilie: La Marquise Du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight", written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by Kristen van Ginhoven. The production, which will run from Nov. 7 through 24 with preview performances on Nov. 7 and 8, will be held at the St. Germain Stage in the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden St., Pittsfield. Twitter Watch: Kristin Chenoweth & Idina Menzel Reunite in NYC - TODAY!

On Twitter Watch, Idina wrote ' Chenoweth, most recently appeared on Broadway in Promises, Promises. Her other theater credits include Wicked and her Tony-winning turn in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Her TV credits include her Emmy-winning work on 'Pushing Daisies', ABC's GCB and guest starring roles on CBS's 'The Good Wife and Fox's Glee. Menzel is best known for her Tony Award-winning performance as 'Elphaba' in the blockbuster Wicked on Broadway, and in her Tony-nominated role as 'Maureen' in Rent. Her other credits include two Drama Desk nominations for her roles in The Wild Party and See What I Wanna See at The Public Theatre.'

LOVE/SICK Runs at The Public Theatre October 18 - 27

Free Reading of Shakespeare Meets Blazing Saddles in New Play-Native Voices at Autry Set for October 24 at Autry National Center

Native Voices at the Autry continues its vital role as the country's only equity theatre company dedicated exclusively to developing the work of Native American playwrights with a free staged reading of Measure for Measure: An Indian Boarding School Comedy, a bawdy adaptation of Shakespeare's play set in the Old West by Randy Reinholz (Choctaw*), founder and producing artistic director of Native Voices at the Autry, on Thursday, October 24, 2013, 7:30 p.m., at the Wells Fargo Theater at The Autry National Center in Griffith Park. The reading, which is followed by an audience 'Talk-Back' with Reinholz, director Chris Anthony and dramaturg Robert Caisley, is part of Native Voices' signature FIRST LOOK SERIES: Plays in Process, which brings playwrights together with professional directors, dramaturgs, and actors for a workshop and public presentation at the Autry, providing an important next step in the play's development.

Dallas Theater Center Stages CLYBOURNE PARK in Rep with A RAISIN IN THE SUN, Now thru 10/27

Dallas Theater Center has announced the regional premiere of Clybourne Park, running in rotating rep with A Raisin in the Sun, to launch the theater's 55th season. Clybourne Park will be directed by DTC Associate Artistic Director Joel Ferrell. ANIMALS OUT OF PAPER is an often amusing, thought provoking play about what happens when the lives of mismatched people collide in complicated ways that highlight hurt and the challenges of individuals who don't know who they are or how to be in the world. The Ensemble production doesn't quite reach the quality of the play's writing, but does hold attention and leaves the audience thinking.

Lydia R. Diamond Named Resident Playwright at Arena Stage

Artistic Director Molly Smith announced today, playwright Lydia R. Diamond, whose impressive body of work includes Stick Fly, Voyeurs de Venus, The Bluest Eye and The Gift Horse, among others, will become a resident playwright as part of the American Voices New Play Institute at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Dr. Barbara Ann Teers's National Black Theatre (NBT) will open its 45th Season with the New York Premiere of The Last Saint On Sugar Hill, written by Keith Josef Adkins and directed by Seret Scottannounced NBT's Director of Theatre Arts Program, Jonathan McCrory. Preview performances begin Tuesday, October 29th at NBT, 2031 Fifth Avenue starting at 7:30pm. The opening night is set for Friday, November 1st at 7pm.
