Company of Fools Stages SHIPWRECKED!, Now thru 12/29

This December Company of Fools (COF) invites you to set sail with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Donald Margulies' Shipwrecked! As part of the Center's multi-disciplinary project Wish You Were Here!, COF will present 15 public performances of this family-friendly adventure tale (recommended for children ages 7 and up). Performances run from tonight, December 11 through December 29.

National Theatre Conference To Honor Nottage, Drury, and Oregon Shakespeare Fest at The Players Club, 12/6

The National Theatre Conference (NTC), an organization founded in 1925 that meets annually in New York to discuss relevant issues in today's theatre community and to celebrate outstanding achievement in the American theatre, has named the recipients of its 2013 awards. Playwright Lynn Nottage has been named Person of the Year; the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, under the artistic direction of Bill Rauch, is the recipient of the Theatre of the Year Award; and playwright Jackie Sibblies Drury has been selected as the winner of the Barrie and Bernice Stavis Playwright Award. All three will be honored and presented with their awards and hold discussions with the membership at The Players club during NTC's annual meeting in New York, December 6-8, 2013.

NERDS Musical Returns to Philadelphia Theatre Company, Now thru 12/29

Philadelphia Theatre Company revisits the musical satire Nerds with book and lyrics by Jordan Allen-Dutton and Erik Weiner, music by Hal Goldberg, and a brand new cast and creative team. Directed by Casey Hushion with choreography by Joshua Bergasse, the ensemble features Stanley Bahorek, Matt Bradley, Briana Carlson-Goodman, Benny Elledge, Lexy Fridell, Raymond J. Lee, Alyse Alan Louis, Robert Morrison, Kevin Pariseau, Catherine Ricafort, and Blake Segal.

Yale's School of Architecture and School of Drama Present STAGE DESIGNS BY MING CHO LEE, Now thru 2/1

Yale's School of Architecture and School of Drama are teaming up this fall to present 'Stage Designs by Ming Cho Lee,' a retrospective of the award-winning designer and Yale professor's work in theater, opera, and dance. The exhibit, free and open to the public, will be on view today, Nov. 21-Feb. 1 in the Yale School of Architecture Gallery, 180 York St., in New Haven.
