Earlier this year, producers for The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, the area's only year-round producing dinner theatre, announced the lineup of shows for its 2017 Season. Kicking off 2017's blockbuster year, will be the hilarious pirate farce, The Pirates of Penzance, opening in January.

Tony and Olivier Award-nominated Euan Morton will take over the role of Hedwig, and Hannah Corneau will play Yitzhak in the National Tour of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the 2014 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival, starting November 29th at the Civic Theatre in San Diego.

Cornelia Street Cafe has extended playwright Tulis McCall's critically lauded solo performance, Are You Serious? - A Woman of a Certain Age Inquires through February 2017.

The hilarious new holiday musical Snow Way Out has been selected to close out the York Theatre Company's reading series for 2016 with a one-time only star-studded reading on December 19th at 2:00 PM at The York Theatre, 619 Lexington Ave (E. 54th Street) on the lower level of Saint Peter's Church.

The first was the 1988 original film, the second was the 2002 Broadway musical, the third was its 2007 film adaptation, and then the 2016 live television production on NBC. As a Welcome to the 60's, let's go back to beginning to learn the history of the property itself.

Tisa Chang, Founding Artistic Producing Director of Pan Asian Repertory Theatre, announces its 40th Milestone Season in 2017 with the commissioned World Premiere of INCIDENT AT HIDDEN TEMPLE, which will run from January 21 - February 12, 2017 at the Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row in New York City (410 W. 42nd Street). The official opening will be on Thursday January 26 at 7:30PM.

Irish Arts Center, which projects a dynamic image of Ireland and Irish America for the 21st century, is pleased to present Voices Carry: A Celebration of Women Writing, December 6. Organized by author and playwright Honor Molloy and directed by Kira Simring, the event features Ms. Molloy and actors Gina Costigan, Angel Desai and Orlagh Cassidy in dramatic readings of 20th Century works spanning a variety of forms, including memoir, novels, poetry, drama, and radio. The featured texts-by renowned contemporary authors Anne Enright andEdna O'Brien; playwright Gina Moxley; and late writers including Leland Bardwell, Maeve Brennan, Elizabeth Bowen, Lucy Grealy, Maura Laverty, and Claire McAllister-explore the humor, depth, and resilience of Irish and Irish American women.

Steppenwolf continues its 41st season with the Chicago premiere of Lucas Hnath's The Christians directed by ensemble member K. Todd Freeman.

Abingdon Theatre Company launches its Ghostlight Reading Series with LIFE OF GEORGE WASHINGTON by Charles Mee on November 28 at 7pm. The reading is free and open to the public at Abingdon Theatre Company's June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Leon Ingulsrud is set to direct.

Rehearsals are underway for the Steppenwolf-commissioned world premiere production of Erika Sheffer's The Fundamentals, directed by ensemble member Yasen Peyankov, who also directed Sheffer's Russian Transport at Steppenwolf in 2014.

Ars Nova, under the leadership of Founding Artistic Director Jason Eagan and Managing Director Renee Blinkwolt, has announced 18 months of boundary-pushing world premiere productions, all commissioned and developed by Ars Nova at their West 54th Street home.
