Pushcart Players, New Jersey's renowned touring theatre for young audiences will perform their beloved musical production, "Peter and the Wolf" at various locations this month throughout New Jersey as part of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance's 20th Annual Stages Festival. Every March, The Stages Festival offers free and discounted performances, workshops, play readings, and behind-the-scenes events for all ages. Events are presented by professional Equity theatres; some take place at their theatres, and some take place in libraries, community centers, performing arts houses, senior centers and more.

WAM Theatre's eighth season continues with the limited run remount of the company's very successful 2013 production of Emilie: La Marquise Du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight, written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by WAM Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven, featuring the entire original cast. The production will run from March 30-April 9, 2017, and be presented at Shakespeare & Company's Tina Packer Playhouse in Lenox.  

Broadway In Chicago has announced Tony and Olivier Award-nominated Euan Morton will play the role of Hedwig, and Hannah Corneau will play Yitzhak in the National Tour of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the 2014 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival. Hedwig and the Angry Inch will play Chicago's Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph) March 7-19, 2017.

The searing new play Sweat begins previews on Broadway tomorrow Saturday, March 4 at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). Following a sold out, critically acclaimed engagement at New York's Public Theater, Sweat, the new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage, directed by Kate Whoriskey will officially open on Broadway on March 26, 2017.

4th Wall Theatre Company launches its inaugural play reading festival, 4th Wall Reads: Women's Voices. Running March 2nd - March 12th at STUDIO 101, the festival showcases five exceptional female playwrights, including Pulitzer Prize finalist and renowned playwright Theresa Rebeck who is headlining the event.

The plays of Season 48 explore the role of power, passion, and privilege in families, friendships, society, and politics. Columbia University and Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith have announced that A 24-Decade History of Popular Music: A Radical Fairy Realness Ritual by Taylor Mac and Matt Ray is the 2017 winner of the Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Drama Inspired by American History.

By popular demand, Steppenwolf Theatre Company extends its critically acclaimed Chicago premiere production of Straight White Men written and directed by Young Jean Lee. A $4.1 million renovation and expansion of the historic Billie Holiday Theatre at Restoration Plaza in Bedford-Stuyvesant is on target to be completed this Spring, announced the New York City Department of Design Construction (DDC) today, which is managing the project for the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA).

David Mirvish will welcome the Musical Stage Company to the Off-Mirvish Season with its production of the multi-award-winning musical FUN HOME as part of the 2017-18 Off-Mirvish Season. The show will play the Panasonic Theatre beginning April 2018.

La MaMa presents Magis Theatre Company's CALDERON'S TWO DREAMS a unique opportunity to see Pedro Calderon de la Barca's two versions of his classic LIFE IS A DREAM written forty-two years apart, (1635 and 1677) in one sitting. Directed by George Drance and Kelly Johnston, performances of begin February 10th at The Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa with opening set for Monday, February 13.
