Following successful showings in the past two seasons, The Old Globe will offer an encore presentation of Thinking Shakespeare Live!, a 90-minute exploration of the language of Shakespeare, today, June 6 at 11:00 a.m.

Two Rooms offers theatregoers a uniquely immersive experience: it is a play that takes place primarily in a room in a home, and it's being performed in an actual home. To be precise, it's taking place in director Patrick Vassel's home tonight, June 6th.

The 2015-2016 season of The REP, Point Park University's professional theatre company, will include critically acclaimed and recent popular comedies and dramas by some of the best contemporary playwrights.

TOGETHER WE ARE MAKING A POEM IN HONOR OF LIFE, written by Dean Poynor, will receive its world premiere this summer in a stirring environmental production staged in the cafeteria of a New York City public school. The show will run for 15 performances starting tonight, June 4th. Mikhael Tara Garver (Artistic Director of the Woodshed Collective) directs the production, which runs now through June 28th.

Due to popular demand, The Public Theater announced a second and final two-week extension for Elevator Repair Service's acclaimed THE SOUND AND THE FURY. Chosen as a New York Times Critics' Pick, THE SOUND AND THE FURY began performances in The Public's Martinson Theater on Thursday, May 14 and was originally extended to Saturday, June 27. Directed by John Collins, the show will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, July 12. THE SOUND AND THE FURY marks the third collaboration between The Public and Elevator Repair Service, having previously presented Gatz and Arguendo.

Lapham's Quarterly (Editor and Publisher Lewis Lapham) hosted their DECADES BALL: The 1780s last night, June 1 at Gotham Hall (1356 Broadway). The Old Globe presents William Shakespeare's delightful and romantic Twelfth Night. Rebecca Taichman, whose production of the time-traveling Time and the Conways fascinated audiences last April, is back to direct the first show of the 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival. The Old Globe engagement will begin performances on June 21 and run through July 26, 2015, with opening night on Saturday, June 27 at 8:00 p.m., in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. From a pool of nearly two hundred Los Angeles playwrights, Humanitas and CTG have chosen five writers for their new PLAY LA Workshop, a year-long development process for local, early to mid-career writers interested in creating stage works from the ground up. Each playwright will receive a $1,500 stipend and access to critiques and feedback from theatre, film and television professionals throughout the year as they develop a new play.
