About Face Theatre is pleased to continue its 2018-19 season with DADA WOOF PAPA HOT, a sexy comedy about gay parenting and modern families from Peter Parnell (The Cider House Rules), directed by Jeff Award-nominated AFT Artistic Associate Keira Fromm*. DADA WOOF PAPA HOT will play January 10 - February 16, 2019 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago. Casting will be announced shortly. Nebraska Wesleyan University's gender blind production of JULIUS CAESAR is running for one more weekend. It is yet another quality production by the NWU theatre department. I am constantly impressed with their vision, their implementation, and their overall excellence. These actors are being trained well in their art. The performance is powerful...a word too weak in its description.

Cast members of The Apple Boys: A Barbershop Quartet Musical are scheduled to make several high-profile appearances on October 31 as part of New York City's 45th Annual Village Halloween Parade. At 9:30 AM, The Apple Boys will appear on Fox 5 TV's 'Good Day New York,' singing an original song. At 7:45 PM, The Apple Boys will perform outside the landmarked Jefferson Market Library as Basil Twists' iconic 14-foot spider descends the clocktower.

The Public Theater announced the full line-up today for the 15th annualUNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL, running January 3-13, 2019. This popular and highly-anticipated festival of The Public's winter season will include artists from across the U.S. and around the world, including Argentina, Australia, France, Lebanon, Nigeria, Norway, Palestine, and the UK. The Public Theater has announced an addition to the company of the New York premiere of MOTHER OF THE MAID, written by Emmy Award winner Jane Anderson. Kelley Curran joins the company as Lady of the Court beginning Friday, October 26, stepping in for Kate Jennings Grant who is departing the lauded production due to a scheduling conflict.

The Queen's Theatre Hornchurch has today announced its exciting spring programme of produced work will feature a regional premiere by an acclaimed Romford playwright, a landmark revival of an epic British musical and the second major production of a new comedy.

Comedian, performer and storyteller Aladdin Ullah brings the world premiere of  Dishwasher Dreams to the Castillo Theatre (543 W. 42nd Street), October 26 through November 18. The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) will begin previews for the MOBILE UNIT's production of Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM on Sunday, October 28. Directed by Jenny Koons, the free sit-down run of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM follows a three-week tour to five boroughs bringing Shakespeare to audiences who have limited or no access to the arts. A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM will run through Saturday, November 17 with an official press opening on Friday, November 2.

In The Italian in Me, a doe-eyed aspiring actress from Canada - who has been raised on a heaping dose of old-fashioned values & Roman Catholic guilt - upends her life by moving to Italy. With her, she brings a tiny bit of cash and grandiose dreams of working in Italian Cinema. Once in Rome, she quickly discovers that things in the Eternal City are not quite as holy or as romantic as she had imagined. Her days are filled with countless fruitless encounters with perverts, priests, producers and statues of Saints in old churches, to whom she pleads for help. But help does not come. Not even a chance siting of the Pope at St. Peter's brings her any closer to her dream. When all hope seems lost, she meets the cinematic Maestro himself, Federico Fellini at Cinecitta' Studios for what turns out to be a very 'illuminating' encounter, but will it be the 'Dolce Vita' she was searching for?

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, is pleased to announce the recipients of the second and third rounds of the 2018 Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards. The awards, totaling $1,114,000 allow 27 productions extra time for the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, hoping to extend the life of the world premiere play after its first run.

The Ziegfeld Club, Inc., one of New York City's first performing arts charities to benefit women, is thrilled to announce that Lucille Lortel Award-Nominee Julianne Wick Davis (Southern Comfort) has been named the recipient of the fourth annual Billie Burke Ziegfeld Award (BBZA). Created to honor a female composer of musical theatre, the BBZA is a prestigious $10,000 cash grant. In addition, the recipient receives one year of artistic and professional mentorship from a prominent composer and a producer of musical theatre.

Joe's Pub, a program of The Public Theater, is thrilled to announce Judy Collins as the 2019 recipient of The Vanguard Award & Residency, which celebrates the work and influence of an icon of American popular culture. The Vanguard Award & Residency is one of many initiatives that furthers The Public's commitment to nurturing and celebrating artists at all levels of their careers. Collins is honored for her legendary career inspiring audiences with her sublime vocals and boldly vulnerable songwriting, but also her fierce activism in social justice and mentorship to many artists. Beyond her own performances, the year under Collins's distinctive curatorial guidance will include Thomas Dybdahl on February 7, plus shows by Mx. Justin Vivian Bond andAri Hest in the spring.

Henry V is the first Shakespeare production, and the second play overall, in Hartford Stage's 55-year history to be staged in the round. In addition to Grush, the ensemble cast - comprised of half men and half women - features Karen Aldridge as Exeter, Miles Anderson as Pistol, Kate Forbes as the Constable of France and Burgundy, Peter Francis James as the Chorus and Sir Thomas Erpingham, Felicity Jones Latta as the Archbishop of Canterbury, Nym and Alice, and Baron Vaughn as Fluellen and Mistress Quickly. Hartford Stage Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Williamson will helm the production, which marks her Shakespeare directorial debut for the Tony Award-winning theatre.

MAX VERNON - the songwriter described by The New Yorker as "equal parts Bohemia and Broadway" - will continue his first ever residency at Joe's Pub, Existential Life Crisis Lullaby, with an all-new show on Tuesday, November 27 at 7:00 PM after two sold-out shows earlier this fall.
