Burning Coal Theatre Presents World Premiere of JUDE THE OBSCURE, 4/12-5/5

Burning Coal Theatre Company will close its 15th season with the world premiere of Jude the Obscure, Parts 1 & 2 by Ian Finley, with music and lyrics by Thomas Hardy, Bruce Benedict, Jerome Davis and Jonathan Fitts. The production will run April 12 - May 5, 2012 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm (April 12 - 14, 19 - 21, 26 - 28 and May 3 - 5, 2012), Saturdays at 2 pm (April 21, 28 and May 5, 2012) and Sundays at 2 pm (April 15, 22, 29, 2012). Sunday, April 15 (Part 1) and Sunday, April 22nd (Part 2) at 2 pm are our 'Pay What You Can' days. Those performances will also be Audio Described. FREUD’S LAST SESSION Opens Tomorrow in Indianapolis

New York's hit play FREUD'S LAST SESSION is set to begin performances tomorrow, March 15th at The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis for a limited engagement through April 15th. The Indianapolis debut of FREUD'S LAST SESSION stars Scot Greenwell as C. S. Lewis and Gordon McCall as Sigmund Freud. Winner of the 2011 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play, FREUD'S LAST SESSION is currently in its second smash year at NYC's New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), starring Mark H. Dold and Martin Rayner, directed by Tyler Marchant.

STAGE TUBE: On This Day 2/20- THE TAMING OF THE SHREW

Today in 1957, The Taming of the Shrew openend at the Phoenix Theatre, where it ran for 23 performances. A comedy by William Shakespeare, the play is believed to have been written between 1590 and 1591. The main plot depicts the courtship of Petruchio, a gentleman of Verona, and Katherina, the headstrong, obdurate shrew. Initially, Katherina is an unwilling participant in the relationship, but Petruchio tempers her with various psychological torments-the 'taming'-until she becomes a compliant and obedient bride. The subplot features a competition between the suitors of Katherina's more desirable sister, Bianca.

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) welcomes The Directors Company in association with New Jersey Repertory Company with the New York City premiere of POETIC LICENSE, written by Jack Canfora and directed by Evan Bergman. POETIC LICENSE begins performances on Thursday, February 9 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 4. Press opening is Wednesday, February 15 at 7:15 PM. Robert Creighton to Perform at Metropolitan Room, 2/12

Broadway's ROBERT CREIGHTO, celebrates the February 14 release of his debut CD, "Ain't We got Fun!" (LML Music), with two performances at New York City's Metropolitan Room, February 12 and 13 at 9:30pm. Creighton has appeared in a non-stop string of six Broadway shows, including, currently, as the Purser in Anything Goes. Fellow cast member JOEL GREY appears on "Ain't We Got Fun!" singing "Give My Regards To Broadway". On both nights, a five piece band and special guests will appear with Creighton to celebrate the occasion. The Metropolitan Room is located at: 34 West 22nd Street, NYC.
