Phoenix Theatre to Present LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE, 7/18-8/11

The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis proudly announces the Indiana Premiere of Love, Loss, and What I Wore by Nora and Delia Ephron. The production is based on the memoir by Illene Beckerman and poignantly illuminates women, clothing and the memories that are indelibly connected to what we wear.

Stage Tube: Sneak Peek of ONCE at the Phoenix Theatre

With a cast led by Declan Bennett and Zrinka Cviteši as Guy and Girl respectively, John Tiffany's West End production of the hit musical opened at The Phoenix Theatre in April this year where it has been acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. At each performance, live on stage, the Company play 10 CF Martin guitars, 2 violins, 1 melodica, 1 cello, 2 mandolins, 1 ukelele, 1 bass guitar, 1 banjo, 2 cajon's, 1 drum kit, 1 piano, 1 harmonica and 1 concertina and on the West End's only on stage bar, audience members can join the cast for the start of the show and at the interval.

New Century Theatre Appoints Kayti Barnett as Managing Director

The critically acclaimed New Century Theatre Company (NCTC) enters a new era as their Board of Directors announces their plan to hire employee #1; Kayti Barnett, as NCTC's managing director. She takes over this role from founding member Jamie Herlich who has served as acting managing director since 2011.

Photo Flash: Cast of West End's ONCE Perform in the London Underground

Today, Friday 14 June 2013, the Company of the eight time Tony award-winning Once made history as the first West End musical cast to busk on the London Underground. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the licensed busking scheme on the Tube, the cast of Once spent two hours in Leicester Square Tube station performing songs from the show alongside some of the station's regular buskers.

DOS FALLOPIA Opens Tonight at The Phoenix Theatre

The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces the return of Dos Fallopia starring Lisa Koch and Peggy Platt. Opening June 13, 2013, this show can be seen on the Livia and Steve Russell Stage at the Phoenix through July 14, 2013. Titled Dos Fallopia: Spudd Potion No. 9, this show features sketches such as "All in the Family Feud" and "The Spudds: Big Valley of the Dolls."

Local theatre veteran, Karen Irwin, takes the audience on a musical journey through her own personal transformation as inspired by her musical idol, Janis Joplin. Joplin used her "un-girly" voice and her no-holds-barred, blues-inspired performance style to triumph over her personal and social adversities, forever changing the face of women in music. With anecdotes and Joplin songs including "Mercedes Benz," "Piece of My Heart," and "Bobby McGee," Irwin pays homage to the musical icon that changed her life.

ONCE Celebrates 500th Performance on Broadway Today

ONCE, the Tony and Grammy Award winning Best New Musical celebrates its 500th performance on Broadway. Once is based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film and plays on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street). The production opened on Sunday, March 18, 2012.
