The Old Globe is delighted to welcome one of the true geniuses of the American theatre, Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman, who makes her long-awaited San Diego directing debut with an enchanting theatrical spectacle with live music and sumptuous visuals, The White Snake, continuing the Globe's 80th Anniversary festivities as part of the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration. The Southern California Premiere of The White Snake, written and directed by Zimmerman, will run March 21 through April 26 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run March 21 through 25. Opening night is Thursday, March 26 at 8:00 p.m.

The Old Globe will present a one-night-only free event, Barry Edelstein In Conversation with Carey Perloff, on Sunday, March 15 at 4:00 p.m.

Halcyon Theatre announces a world premiere and two Chicago premieres as part of our Tenth Season in 2015/16.

Long Wharf Theatre presents brownsville song (b-side for tray) by Kimber Lee, directed by Associate Artistic Director Eric Ting, from March 25 through April 19.

McDonald/Selznick Associates presents the 2015 MSA Emerging Choreographers' Showcase on February 27, 2015 in New York City featuring the work of choreographers Al Blackstone, Adam Cates, Sean McKnight, and Rachelle Rak. Two performances will take place at the Ailey Citigroup Theater for an invited audience of producers, industry professionals, and guests.

The Old Globe's West Coast Premiere of The Twenty-seventh Man by award-winning novelist Nathan Englander, directed by Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein, will now play an extra week of performances -- through March 22, 2015. Tony and Emmy Award winner Hal Linden ('Barney Miller,' The Rothschilds) leads a cast of Broadway and Globe veterans including Ron Orbach, Robert Dorfman, Eli Gelb, James Shanklin, and Lowell Byers. Lincoln Center Education, the education cornerstone of Lincoln Center and a global leader in arts education and advocacy, announces the first event of the 2015 Next Stage series, a discussion series launched last year with high-profile artists exploring the role of arts education in their creative and commercial work. The first event, taking place today, February 19 at Lincoln Center's Clark Studio Theater, will focus on artists involved in the creation of works for the specific audience of people on the autism spectrum.

The course of love definitely does NOT run smooth when William Shakespeare's family-friendly comedy 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' plays on the Clarence Brown Theatre Mainstage tonight, February 19 through March 8, 2015. An Open Captioned performance will take place on Sunday, February 22 at 2:00 pm.

An Act of God begins performances on May 5, 2015 and officially opens on May 28, 2015 on Broadway at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). According to an Equity casting notice, the production is currently seeking Parsons' two co-stars- Michael (30s. An angel of God's. Funny, impulsive, as irreverent as an angel of God's can be) and Gabriel (40s. An angel of God's. By the books; no-nonsense). Auditions for the roles will take place later this week.

Gulfshore Playhouse will produce their second World Premiere in as many years with The Butcher by Gwydion Suilebhan, playing February 28th through March 22nd with $30 preview performances on February 25th, 26th and 27th. Playwright talkbacks will take place following each preview performance and following the 3pm matinee performance on Sunday, March 1st. The Butcherwas featured as a finalist in Gulfshore Playhouse's 1st Annual New Works Festival in August 2013.

The Old Globe will present a one-night-only event, Barry Edelstein In Conversation with Nathan Englander, tonight, Feb. 18, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. This special discussion will reunite Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein and award-winning playwright and novelist Nathan Englander, whose play The Twenty-seventh Man, about a group of writers imprisoned in Soviet Russia under mysterious circumstances, makes its West Coast premiere at The Old Globe in February, directed once again by Edelstein. The event will explore the evolution of the play; its fascinating historical setting; Englander's work in fiction versus theatre; and literature's place in modern American culture.

Playwrights Horizons has announced casting for IOWA, the world premiere of a new musical play written by Susan Smith Blackburn Prize finalist Jenny Schwartz (God's Ear, Somewhere Fun), music by Todd Almond (Stage Kiss at PH, Kansas City Choir Boy, The Tempest, On the Levee) and lyrics by Mr. Almond and Ms. Schwartz. Directed by two-time Obie Award winner Ken Rus Schmoll (Red Dog Howls, Middletown, What Once We Felt; next season's just-announced Antlia Pneumatica by Anne Washburn at PH), the musical play will be the fifth production of the theater company's 2014/2015 Season.

AN ACT OF GOD is in search of two actors to portray the angels Michael and Gabriel in Broadway's newest comedy. This strictly limited engagement begins performances May 5 and officially opens May 28 on Broadway at Studio 5

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre presents Abundance, the 1990 play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart). An epic tale of friendship set against the backdrop of the sweeping American West, Abundance will be directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Jenn Thompson, who directed last season's production of William Inge's Natural Affection. Performances begin at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) tonight, February 17, 2015.

The Old Globe will celebrate its 80th Anniversary as part of the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration with a full roster of great plays in its regular season and a Summer Season featuring Shakespeare on stage and in film, along with our popular ongoing programs.

On Monday, March 16, 2015, the League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW), a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting visibility and increasing opportunities for women in the professional theatre, is pleased to recognize the talents of five outstanding women: Mary-Mitchell Campbell, Kathleen Chalfant, Sandra A. Daley-Sharif, Rachel Dickstein, and Donyale Werle.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, is pleased to announce the recipients of the Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards for the 2014-15 season. The awards, totaling $858,000, allow 26 productions extra time in the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, helping to extend the life of the play after its first run.

Arden Theatre Company continues its 27th season of great stories with Macbeth by William Shakespeare. Alexander Burns directs. Macbeth runs from March 5, 2015 - April 19, 2015, on the Arden's F. Otto Haas Stage at 40 N. 2nd Street in Philadelphia.
