Smokey Robinson Makes Hollywood Bowl Debut, 7/14

Smokey Robinson makes his Hollywood Bowl debut on July 14th at 8pm. Celebrating his 50th anniversary in the music business, Robinson will perform songs from his latest CD Time Flies When You're Having Fun, to be released August 25th. As well, he'ss perform such signature hits such as 'Tears of a Clown,' 'Tracks of My Tears,' 'I Second That Emotion,' and more. Jazz singer/songwriter Lizz Wright sets the tone for the evening with songs from her soulful repertoire.

On Saturday, June 19, Julie Andrews was honored at the Starlight Ball in East Hampton Andrews recently played a sold out concert, 'An Evening with Julie Andrews' at the O2 Arena in the UK on May 8, 2010. 'An Evening with Julie Andrews' saw a night of music from her greatest stage and screen performances, as well as the live narration of the story Simeon's Gift, the best-selling childrens book written by Julie and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton (now available). Andrews and Hamilton recently released a second book, A Very Faity Princess. In attendance were special guests Christie Brinkley, Juergen & Anke Friedrich, and Jay McInerney & Anne Hearst McInerney. Guthrie Opens Season With THE MASTER BUTCHERS SINGING CLUB, Schedule Set 5/18

Director Joe Dowling today announced the Guthrie Theater's 2010-2011 season will begin with the world premiere of a new play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman. The Master Butchers Singing Club, adapted from the novel by Minnesota author Louise Erdrich, opens on the Wurtele Thrust Stage of the Guthrie Theater in September under the direction of Francesca Zambello.

Celebrating 50 years of Motown, the New Cardiff Theatre will close its production of DANCING IN THE STREETS on May 1st. The production began performances at the theatre on April 26th, for a limited engagement.

Alden B. Dow Museum of Science & Art at Midland Center for the Arts Presents 'Einstein' 8/8-12/6

His face is instantly recognizable; his name a synonym for 'genius.' Not since Galileo and Newton has one scientist so advanced our understanding of the universe as Albert Einstein (1879-1955). Einstein, a comprehensive exhibition that celebrates the life and theories of one of the greatest scientists of all time opens at the Alden B. Dow Museum of Science and Art at Midland Center for the Arts on August 8, 2009, and remains on view through December 6, 2009.
