The HOWL! ARTS PROJECT 2009: FILM SERIES Held 9/17-20 At The Millennium Film Workshop

Using Allen Ginsberg (the inspiration for the HOWL! Festival) as a point of departure, this series of programs links film and video to the various underground creative movements transpiring in the East Village in fact and in spirit: poetry, music, theater, performance, and the fine arts, as well as protests affirming sexuality, opposing gentrification, and supporting the flourishing of a subversive culture.

The Fordham University Alumni Theatre Company announced the details of its second annual production, ONCE THERE WAS A BOY, a new play by Jason Pizzarello. The production is a collaboration of thirty Fordham University alums, including Pizzarello and director Aaron Rhyne, and will begin its special limited engagement on August 1, 2009 at Fordham University's Pope Auditorium (113 W. 60th Street, NYC).

South Coast Repertory's Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF) will celebrate its 11th annual edition with a lineup composed of seven SCR-commissioned plays from an array of writers. Since its creation in 1998, PPF has grown into one of the most important festivals of new scripts in the United States. This year's Festival will take place during the May 2 through May 4 weekend with a workshop production, four staged readings and two fully-staged World Premieres on South Coast Repertory's two major stages.
