Tango No. 9, San Francisco's premier chamber ensemble devoted to all facets of tango music, graces two Bay Area stages on Sun. Naomi Goldberg Haas is a dancer, master teacher, choreographer and director of DVP. She is the creator of Variable Pop Expressive Dance Method and Movement Speaks - a Community Collaborative Dance Program. Highlights from her work in theater, opera and film include collaborations with The Klezmatics, composer Michael Nyman, playwright Tony Kushner, directors Brian Kulick and Oskar Eustis and Disney animation. Her work with the Silesian Dance Theater and persons with disabilities was presented in 2010 at the International Contemporary Dance Festival in Poland and in 2011 at Chutzpah Festival in Vancouver, B.C. Recent projects include Golem with the Czech American Marionette Theater for the 50th anniversary of La Mama etc. She formerly danced with Pacific Northwest Ballet and holds an MFA from Tisch Dance at NYU. She has taught dance at Cal State, Long Beach and Loyola Marymount University and currently teaches at NYU, the Harkness Dance Center at the 92 Y and in DVP's programs.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ present the 16th annual benefit concert in support of the United Jewish Appeal of MetroWest NJ (UJA) today, April 21, at 3 pm, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark. Clarinetist David Krakauer joins the Orchestra for Mozart's Clarinet Concerto, along with traditional klezmer works Synagogue Wail and Der Heyser Bulgar. Guest conductor Stefan Sanderling leads the Orchestra in the one-performance-only program, which opens with Copland's Appalachian Spring.

Clarinetist David Krakauer will join the Kronos Quartet on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 9pm, at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall (57th & 7th Avenue), as part of Late Nights at Zankel Hall. Krakauer will be featured on the New York premiere of Aleksandra Vrebalov's Babylon, Our Own. Also included on the program will be the world premiere of Missy Mazzoli's You Know Me From Here, Laurie Anderson's Flow (arr. Jacob Garchik), and the New York premiere of Valentin Silvestrov's String Quartet No. 3.

The Skirball Cultural Center presents the Los Angeles premiere of South Indian violinist, composer, and conductor Dr. L. Subramaniam's Global Fusion featuring harmonica blues legend Corky Siegel, live in concert, tonight, February 22, 2013, at 8:00 p.m. Continuing the Skirball's new music series, 'Journeys and Encounters' - which showcases surprising collaborations between musicians of diverse genres - Dr. L. Subramaniam's Global Fusion combines Carnatic (South Indian) music and Western classical, jazz, and rock.

Puppets and live performers enact an enigmatic tale of early World War II in 'King Executioner,' the newest creation of Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre written and directed by Vit Horejš. The play is loosely based on 'When you are a King, You will be an Executioner' ('A Jak Krolem a Jak Katem Bedzies,' 1968) by the Polish magical realist novelist Tadeusz Nowak (1930-1991). Written with a strong feminist voice, the book follows the journey of a woman at the turn of the 3rd millennium, where personal experiences morph into a lyrical meditation on space and time, and where loss, rebirth, and unsettled relationships mirror global shifts. The event will take place at Bluestockings Bookstore, located at 172 Allen Street (NYC), tonight, September 21, 7-9 p.m. It will be followed by a book signing. The Englert Theatre has announced its Centennial Celebration programming schedule. The programming will run from October 11 to November 8, and feature world-renowned artists including: Alloy Orchestra, Kronos Quartet, Rosanne Cash, Marilynne Robinson, and The Klezmatics. The celebration will also highlight Iowa-based talent with a special event called the Iowa City Song Project.

Los Angeles' collective holiday spirit is always palpable at the annual Deck the Hall holiday concerts at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Eclectic programming from across the country descends upon the city's premiere concert venue, radiating the holiday spirit throughout. Beginning Tuesday, December 13, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association presents festive programming that features ten performances in December including two very special engagements on New Year's Eve.

Frank London's Klezmer Brass Band Allstars will perform a Hanukkah concert at The Jewish Museum on Tuesday, December 27 at 7:30 pm.
