Reissa Celebrates Hanukkah at Museum of Jewish Hertitage, 12/12

On Sunday, December 12 at 2:30 p.m., join Tony nominee and international concert artist Eleanor Reissa and friends for a delightful afternoon of Yiddish and English music and humor. Reissa, one of the world's most important interpreters of Yiddish song, will perform in her only New York City appearance this year at the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. Her band of musical luminaries is led by Frank London of the Klezmatics and features Marty Confurius on the upright bass; Rex Benincasa on percussion and drums; slide trombone player Brian Drye; and pianist and accordion player Patrick Farrell.

It's Official: Carney, Damiano & Page Open SPIDER-MAN on Broadway Dec. 21, 2010; Previews Begin Nov. 14

Lead producer Michael Cohl announced today that SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will begin preview performances on Broadway on Sunday, November 14, 2010, at 3 p.m., with Opening Night set for Tuesday evening, December 21. Directed by Julie Taymor and featuring a book by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger, and new music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will open at Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street).

Miriam Theatre Presents Natalie Merchant, 7/20

On Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 8pm, Natalie Merchant will perform at the Merriam Theater of the University of the Arts. This appearance is part of her nationwide tour in support of her new album Leave Your Sleep. The tour will be Merchant's first major outing in seven years. Merchant and her eight-piece band will perform new material as well as favorites from throughout her career.

In the seasonal blaze of summer festivals, London, Ontario's TD Sunfest (July 8-11, 2010) shines like no other. The Jewish Museum's SummerNights program returns, presenting live world music in a concert setting on three Thursdays in July. Margot Leverett and the Klezmer Mountain Boys kick off SummerNights on July 1 followed by Ansambl Mastika on July 8, and The Sexteto Rodriguez Cuban-Jewish All Stars on July 15. The Jewish Museum is located at Fifth Avenue at 92nd Street, Manhattan. Each concert begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets for each concert are $15 for the general public; $12 for students and seniors; and $10 for Jewish Museum members. Guthrie Legacy Concert Held At Tarrytown Music Hall 4/24

The Klezmatics, Work o' the Weavers, Pete Seeger and Fred Hellerman pay musical tribute to Woody Guthrie on Saturday, April 24th at 8:00 PM at Tarrytown Music Hall (13 Main Street, Tarrytown, NY). Legends of folk and klezmer music will perform at Kisses Sweeter Than Wine: The Guthrie Legacy Concert to benefit the Woody Guthrie Foundation and The Sloop Woody Guthrie.
