Juilliard Dance, under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes, opens its 2013-2014 season with New Dances PLUS: Edition 2013, Wednesday, December 11 through Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Juilliard's Peter Jay Sharp Theater and features Juilliard alumna Pina Bausch's Wind von West (Wind from the West) performed by the Senior Class, plus three world premiere commissions created for each of the classes of Juilliard's Dance Division. Next season's innovative choreographers are Juilliard alumnus Takehiro Ueyama (1st Year Dancers); Brian Brooks (2nd Year Dancers); and Juilliard alumnus Darrell Grand Moultrie (3rd Year Dancers).

Dynamic contemporary dance company BODYTRAFFIC makes its Jacob's Pillow debut July 31- August 4 in the Doris Duke Theatre. Named among Dance Magazine's “25 to Watch” in 2013, the company's Pillow program consists of And at midnight the green bride floated through the village square…(2012) created by Israeli-American dancemaker Barak Marshall, Fragile Dwellings (2011) by Belgian-born choreographer Stijn Celis, and O2Joy (2012) by founder and artistic director of The Bakery, Richard Siegal.

BalletCollective (formerly Satellite Ballet) will make its Joyce Theater debut on August 14 and 15 as part of the Ballet 6.0 Festival, with the world premiere of The Impulse Wants Company, as well as a revised version of the company's Epistasis (2012), both choreographed by BalletCollective director Troy Schumacher.

Pacific Northwest Ballet opens its Box Office for 2013-2014 ticket sales on Monday, July 22. As is its tradition, PNB is offering aspecial money-saving deal to celebrate the company's 41st season: Pay no service fees on tickets purchased thru July 31. Thodos Dance Chicago will celebrate 13 years of dance creation with its annual New Dances performance series, today, July 19-21, 2013 at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Repertory Dance Theatre has announced the addition of four new dancers for the upcoming 2013-2014 season. As the oldest, and most successful company of its kind, Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT) opens its 48th season with four new and talented faces. Justin Bass, Efren Corado, Ursula Perry, and Alyssa Thompson join the ranks of RDT company members, as almost 90 dancers have before.

These Pillow performances showcase multifaceted explorations of space and motion in four different works choreographed by Brooks including BIG CITY, I'm Going to Explode, DESCENT, and excerpts from MOTOR.

She marked her Broadway debut in 1982 as Vera Baronova in the revival of On Your Toes, featuring Balanchine's Slaughter on Tenth Avenue ballet. Ms. Kozlova joined the New York City Ballet in 1983 as Principal Dancer and remained with the company until 1995, dancing lead roles choreographed by such dance icons as George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins, Peter Martins, Richard Tanner and Eliot Feld.

To quote William Shakespeare, 'Though she be but little, she is fierce.' True for all the performers of Ballet Tech on stage Saturday afternoon at the Joyce Theater. Eliot Feld created a full-time, tuition-free dance program for fourth through eighth graders, whose hard work exceeded expectations of audience members.

Internationally acclaimed tap dance virtuoso Savion Glover will be returning to New York City's Joyce Theater for a limited run of his new show, Savion Glover's STePz. Mr. Glover and his dance ensemble will deliver 21 performances only, between today, June 18 and July 6. Opening night is set for Wednesday, June 19.

This August, The Joyce Theater will present Ballet v6.0, a remarkable festival designed to recognize dancers and choreographers who are creating work outside the traditional large company setting and are forming their own small companies. From August 6 - 17, some of the country's most exciting young dance companies whose works represents a range of ballet styles from neo classical to contemporary, will be presented as part of this festival at The Joyce. They are BalletX, Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, Company C Contemporary Ballet, Whim W'Him, BalletCollective and Jessica Lang Dance. Tonight, Thursday, June 13 (7 + 9 pm) at The Invisible Dog in Brooklyn, choreographer Rebecca Lazier and indie-classical ensemble Newspeak present the first US performances of Coming Together/Attica, a site-specific setting of Frederic Rzewski's iconic minimalist scores written following the 1971 prison riots in upstate New York. Lazier's dancers are Rashaun Mitchell and Silas Riener (formerly of Merce Cunningham Dance Company); Asli Bulbul, most recently from Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company; Jennifer Lafferty, who is featured in the work of Beth Gill and Yasuko Yokoshi; Pierre Guilbault; and Christopher Ralph.
