It is hard not to like The Gospel at Colonus, the current Zach revival at the Topfer Theatre. The production is at once joyous and tragic; beautifully rich and amazingly stark - it will have you on your feet swaying to heartfelt, robust gospel music and it will also push you hard in your seat as you contemplate the tragic life of the main character(s).

Rolan Bolan Records Debut Album
by BWW News Desk - Sep 10, 2013

Being the son of a rock legend has its highs and lows, but for Rolan Bolan, son of the late glam-rocker and T-Rex frontman Marc Bolan, one of the coolest things is hanging out with other members of his unique fraternity. He's jammed on the beach with Roy Orbison's sons Roy Jr. and Alex, hung out with Zoey Bonham(daughter of John Bonham and sister of Jason) and has had Planet and Sierra Swan, daughters of '70s pop singer Billy Swan, do backup vocals for him.

Motown's a fun show with 12 pretty great singers and a full orchestra center stage under the nifty musical direction of Andrew Reyes.

Delightful and down-right hilarious, SISTER ACT - THE MUSICAL---the nun-tastic stage adaptation of the hit 1992 motion picture of the same name---is, frankly, to my pleasant surprise, an unexpected gem of a show. Heavily retooled from its 2006 Out-of-Town premiere at the Pasadena Playhouse and its eventual 2009 London debut, the Tony-nominated Broadway comedy's North American first national tour continues a three-week engagement at Hollywood's Pantages Theatre through July 28 (the tour is also scheduled for stops in nearby San Diego, July 30 - August 4 and Orange County, August 6-18).
